lack of drive

Sorri for the lack of blogging this month....

I think I'm still in holiday mood.. gosh and its already been 2 wks coming 3... my bad

Sometimes you wonder why ppl goes for a holiday and comes back more lax than already is...

Which is why DD T hates to go holiday for he say he cannot jump start his engine after holidays...

I finally understood him..

*Yawns... I swear I not sure what happened this month, just sitting on front of the telly watching dvds and shows...

Been busy looking after V everyday, hardly left her at grands for me time as to pay back my 5 days

You know its a slow month, when I have been driving andf don't even want to beat the red light.. really... hahahhaha

Okie few more days of rotting.. and will be back with a bang next month as I feel its slowly returning....

Julia Gabriel Term 4

she is in playclub now...

we ended term 3 on a high.... with Lin's farewell and V's promotion to playclub...
I am so glad I made the decision to keep her in playnest for another term, although she is ready and had her letter of recommendation to be promoted when she was 17 mths but.... I feel that it will be really healthy that she plays the "big sister" role longer (she being the youngest amongst her friends), learn to love the younger children, accept the fact they are not faster or stronger than her. Amongst everything, she "officially" became the class monitor, helping to carry stuffs, showing her classmates how things are done, which I feel gave her confidence that allows her to know that if you do listen, responsibilities will come forth .

So we have attended 2 classes of playclub, I still insist on english class for she is on a roll for her learning curve of speech, she can say all 26 alphabets and 1-10 (not continuously but she can pronounce and knows what come next). So I want to emphasize the language further and move on to all mandarin classes by next year. Just want her to think in english for now, so they say they grasp languages well the 1st 6 six years, so she is not late to start mandarin by 2 years old, and any other I feel like adding later. I don't like the idea of mixing them together although I'm sure they can deal with the difference. By the time she speaks good english at 2 years old, I will concentrate solely on mandarin. So, we will do english to DD T and mandarin to me by 3 years old.

Playclub is alot different, I must stress that her classmates this term are very very docile! haha don't know if its just beginning of the term or what, we shall see. I totally love the dramatization of the playclub bears, where the teachers will dress up and act out skits. I get VERY tired by the end of the lesson for I can't sit down and chill, always on the move.. doesn't help that the floor is no longer padded. *opps so I do have to knee/sit on hard floors. Snack time is like my favourite! V has to Q up for her food, carry her plate to her seat, eat chop chop and carry her empty plate n cup to the table for clearance. No more service! lol She has started to learn that she can't take the whole day to eat her snacks for its eats into her play time!!! *woots The start of discipline for the kiddos :)

Fun days is to come when she settles into the new routine...yippeee.... I'm actually quite happy with change for I was yawns with playnest after 3 terms and 2 holiday programs hahah... she goes to playclub this term on wednesdays and fridays..

Beijing 2-5 sep 2010

We left and V was da bomb....

As parents we got all panicky and worried... quite normal issit? But the princess didn't ask for us much except for that moment when we called home the next day to check on her..  I spoke to her while on speaker, from what Grandma Ng said was "gotta stop, her face changing". So we stopped our chat and never did call back at all, except for the occasionally sms to update us on her poo, food, sleep issues.

We came back after 5 days and she was there to receive us at the airport, should have seen her smile when she turned around when I called. Gave me a biggie hug and continued eating her biscuit... at that moment I knew all my worries were all so not necessary. From the report by the grands, she behaved real well, slept well, didn't poo for 2 days that got them worried, went out everyday, basically had fun. You see, she behaves real bad only with me; the mummy.. oh what's new!

So due to the fact this 5 days went so well, DD T is addicted to more trips...  he said to let me chose, so maybe we will do a chill out relax holiday next for I WALKED SO MUCH THIS TRIP!

The trip: Did the last day of JG, brought her back to the grands and we got ready to go airport. Left with a kiss and disappeared quick as we didn't want V to cry or rather I cry. *sighs. Did the regular stuffs at the airport, bought our books for the trip and both managed to watch 2 movies onboard. Something I found to be a luxury to do now with a child. We both ate so well everyday! n of course slept well too for  we did everything to our pace. Food suddenly tasted so good.. again. Touched down Beijing at about 11-ish and once in the hotel DD T wanted supper.. so him. By the time we got to sleep was about 2am-ish and so we slept in, had lunch and did some light shopping the next day instead of sightseeing. Made a trip to QUANJUDE to eat my Peking duck.. yumz.

Next day was a early early day as we decided to do the great wall, engaged a driver with a car to bring us around for I didn't want to deal with tour buses that brings me to medical halls and all that rubbish. Uncle driver was excellent! so very worth our S$200 (tickets not included).. great person to talk to, a retiree who spends some of days doing this as a freelance. Though he was supposed to be a driver, he still taught us alot of things from a local's point of view. He recommended that we go to MUTIANYU part of the great wall, says its way more magnificent that BAIDALING. Although its further,we were still game for it...

He insisted that we walked up the wall and not take the cable car up ... for he says "only when u struggle your way up, then you will appreciate it way better" okie fine, if not for him , I would have paid the tickets to go up FAST! Oh man I tell you, it was so difficult la!  Damn F-ing high you know! You should have seen me la, cursing and swearing lots! I kept stopping for I couldn't catch my breath, weather was disgusting hot,  camera was heavy, I was in long sleeves and tights attire (tks to DD T for he says he will be cold), the altitude makes it hard to climb, and yes I'm unfit... oh n I was in my Fitflop.

I went up 50 or more of such stairways.. totally not fun O.o only then I realized Great wall BERI HIGH!!!

I was ranting alot on the way up, too difficult la... Dd T too couldn't take it.. think we were the only few  clowns walking up! But throughout the climb, I had alot of thoughts, trust me, it forces you think about life... how determined one should be in trying to attained what your goals are.

Then you think once you are up, its easier.. NO! at some points, its soooo steeps its not funny!!!

I swear I became a better person after climbing this great wall man!! and we got oursleves a great photo!!! so worth the climb I tell you....

Odd

Everytime I blog about her.. she changes

She decided 2 days ago she hates western food O.o, her favourite now is pork floss... thanks to grandma Tay who was scratching her head on what to feed her and she opened her tin of pork floss, fed her with rice.. and Tada, it became her favourite food for now

I googled on pork floss and its recipe. Realized its actually chunks of pork shoulder meat, cooked, shredded, seasoned with salt and sugar, fried on low fire for 3-4 hours till dry. So I approved! Coz its real meat what.. protein still right? I mean its really not easy to feed a child meat! hahha going to fish floss soon.. that is if she is still in this mood.  I always thought pork floss was junk food, but I think cookies are way more junky than pork floss... Come on, I was in cold storage today trying to find her cereals and I found that Nestle corn flakes had 440 mg of sodium compared to Kellogg's at 230 mg.. odd right? corn flakes lei...

So I mentioned in my last post she speaks in 2 words, last few days its has upped.. Today, while we were struggling with her DVD, coz it couldn't read suddenly and she said "Mummy, its not there" hahaha so cute.. she usually just tell me yes or no when I drive off. But today, while DD T was driving, I kept turning it on and off and sensing my frustration, she spoke!

I forsee I will have a very talkative girl... really

19 months

Speech: She has started to speak in 2 words clearly, the 3 or more words take a little bit more effort. I think my gal has a slang man! I think its the Hi 5, Wiggles that gives her that angmo accent muahahhah.. think the accent will go away over time. Can get real commanding now, at just a regular meal, she can be like giving instructions "put here" "put there" "hold this" "drink water".. damn trying... DD T gets all pissed when she gets so commanding for she won't be eating but making us move the plates, take her food. Oh well, I rather this than a screaming child, a mood she gets into when she is a foul mood and cannot get what she wants to say across.

Food: Still absolutely western!! Yawns, I'm so tired of it!!! really.... I crack my brain every time we eat out.  Remember I mentioned she hates noise, still is.. when I told my girlfriend, she was laughing at me and told me my prenatal education damn haps! But really beyond my control lei.. My mother says she ate in restaurants and coffeehouses while she was expecting me, for "I had expensive taste." Eh! gotta blame my mother man. *Sighs. V is a slicker for ambience... example if i go crystal jade, she will be messing around, arching her back, dropping things on the floor, have to be out by 30 mins.... Too noisy example, that day we met up with mummy friends at Raku and she sat in her highchair for 2 straight hours! coz relaxed great atmosphere.

At first I thought I was being sensitive but after trying with DD T, he too agree that ambience is a very important factor in her behaviour. DAMNZ. oh well O.o Best part, food quality is not an issue.. as long its nice and quiet she eats well. Can be a whole plate of something type...

Milk: Changed her formula to Nan Pro, for my daughter is the only child I ever know constipates from similac and friso...zzzzz oh well n fresh milk too. eh shy to say still from a milk bottle, damn lazy to train drinking milk in the morning from a cup lei, coz DD T makes and feed than we will fall back to sleep. If its a cup, she has sit up right? wa then how to go back sleep? unless someone has a trick can teach me .. pls. I still like to feed liquids with a apparatus, teats or straw.. cleaner. She drinks from a cup if she is already dirty or at school. Thats it..

Teething: Despite she has her full set, canines and premolars are out.. there are occasional times when she chut patterns.. I think that canines are very hurtful 4.. coz she rejected food and milk lots last month and she kept pointing her finger to the mouth and complaining "pain". But I don't what to do, just gave her iced hanky to suck on, for I don't know where to apply the bonjela.

She gets so fun now... dancing alot, singing with words which is so nice...

Barney 12 sept 2010

V is now in purple kingdom...

Was a regular sunday, went to church had lunch, weather was hot hot hot and we had a cranky lil gal :(

The plan was to go expo early and collect our tickets, walked around and go for Barney at 5pm.. but she was all whiney due to the weather and we dropped her at the grands, for her nap. DD T stayed with her while I made the trip to expo to collect the tickets.

I surprised her by getting her a Barney T-shirt.... she was beaming! She has just woken up from her 1.5 hrs nap and was pleasantly surprised with a new gift!

We gave her tea, changed her and she wanted to watch a little TV and so Grandpa Ng played a Barney DVD for about 10 mins before we left for the concert.

She didn't know what was up, just very excited to see the purple dino and wanted to take a photo. Brought her to the "store" and wanted to buy her toys but she said "NO" to everything. So emo .... but the again the toys were really ugly. But thanks to peer pressure! while inside the hall, she told DD T to bring her to the store for she saw everyone else carrying a toy.
Concert started exactly at 5pm which was great... you should have seen V's face when she saw Barney up close and personal! she was in shock, disbelief for he was so big! and I guess for a little child it was a dream come true to actually see what was on TV come real. You know, imagination is a very important tool in a child's upbringing. By the time, the child turns 3 years old, they believe everything that they see and read in books, may it be fairies, witches, mickey and minnies... they thrive on it. (Well, I still believe that fairies, pixies, witches and wizards exists.. *opps) That's where they start creating characters in their mind, write stories, have the ability to use them in their creative aspect in their school work. I was told by Teacher Lin that the best time to visit Disneyland is actually at 3-5 years old, this allows them to believe that whatever they read does exist!!

Its V's 3rd concert this year, totally worth the training for her to be comfortable in such environment. So by the time she reaches 2 years old and gets her own seat, she will be all ready. Doesn't help that all the grands are so supportive in her going, for they know she will one of those children who enjoys such. Slowly but surely, we are asking for sponsorship! Grandpa Ng paid for this (shiok right!)... He was so excited to see his precious telling him how big barney was, how purple he was, showing off her toy, telling Pops she blew kisses to him. Muahahah... They are so going to bring her next time when she is all trained, they can help me bring her to disney on ice etc.....

My friends, Ry's mummy told me that she thinks that Barney is satan's gay son, hahhahah I used too hate this fellow too! But that is of course before I had a child... So if Barney is that, Bert and Ernie are gay partners, than how?? Nothing to watch liaoz.. keke

she was in shock.. not sure if she was dreaming or not! check out DD T's smile.. as if the concert is for him! hyak hyak
Purple
the cast... i have NO idea what are the names of the rest of the dinos
During break time.. playing with her toys... we had it changed to big barney.

I wasn't able to get the 1st 5 rows for the $78 tickets, for by the time I decided to get the tickets (can't decide on barney or sesame st, but in the end Grandma Tay told me to bring her to watch S.S next round, for she is still less than 2 and S.S are suitable for 3-11 yrs old. Quite true actually, for V doesn't like S.S anymore.. for now I guess) was left with row 8-10zzzzz to far! and I wanted aisle seats. If you really need to know, I don't like Vizpro seatings for they are very snug especially with a toddler on the laps. So I took a gamble and bought $68,which is the side seatings and I got the 4th row which I'm very pleased about.
After the break, V got warmed up and started to walk around, her favourite is the toy store. She kept going there to look at more stuffies

insisted on sitting on the table top of the toy store and played with the stuffs, told the jie jie that she wanted the bag, so we borrowed it for a while to carry her barney about.

Towards the end of the concert, she was dancing, wagering her fingers to the music, obviously very happy with what was going on. At one point, we walked to the railings that separated the stage to the seats and she pulled herself up and shouted "BARBEY" hahah groupie la this gal! She was blowing kisses to him and waving her goodbyes when it ended... when we were out of the hall and asked her if she enjoyed the surprise we gave her and she said "HaAPPY" As a parent, the feeling is priceless....

In the car, we played her Barney DVD and she was baby singing, definitely very happy. I believe just like us as adults after going to a great concert and re-watching it on tv, the feeling is way shiokadoos... I know she is in her dreamland now, playing with her BARBEY.
till the next concert.... Baby SSO in November.

Busy

So just a note b4 I fly off ....

Ms Ng has been in this absurdly mood...

the hunger strike aka not eating aka not drinking her milk...

the not sleeping through, wakes up and sleeps ON me (I'm so aching sobz) ...

the mummy, mummy, mummy nagging which ermm very trying...

Just a conversation in between a crazy crying spate in the car... DD T stopped the car and we turned around to speak to her. (have to use positive words, right?)

Me: Why cry? you are mummy's and daddy's pretty gal?

V : NO

Me: you are our very clever gal right?

V: NO

Me: why so upset? mummy and daddy knows you are smart gal...

V: NO

Me: okie you are our intelligent girl!

V: YES ( smiles and continue watching her DVD... zzzzzzzzz)

walau!!! I looked at DD T and told him I gotta start building up my vocab for our daughter likes bombastic words!!! Damn...
