Social responsible = Boredom

Daddy Trev caught the flu

Not the pig one but the common one... so we decided to be social responsible and self quarantine ourselves.. meaning, he goes to NG residence me to the TAY's... DD T won't get to see her until he has recovered.. remember the cough? So he goes back to get his mommy's love and daddy's concerns.

So it soooooo boring staying at home and its the weekend, its usually the time for me to go out and breath but now am stuck here... But since there is that rising numbers and the many clusters around, call me paranoid but I don't Victoria to be the youngest person to be infected. (the youngest being 14 mths)

DD T has been starting to do his regional tours, flying about a lot in june.. he is highly infectious as grandpa John caught the flu bug too. Eeeks.. so mean coming from the wife right?

Hey but I'm the main caregiver and her source of food aka milk and cannot afford to be ill.

Sex

n u wonder its suppose to be natural...

This sex thing after delivering is errmmm damn uncomfortable man.... We mummies speak openly about this issue as errmm it is an issue... guess its more tramatic for the selected few, painful for some and don't want it for majority.

I fall into the "I don't mind sex" as we had it the day before BB [V] was born, but after delivering.. it kinda of became a problem for a while.

1) You are so busy with the baby, that is the last thing on a mummies' mind

2) There is a nagging thought of wound-ing the poor organ (she)

3) Leaking milk when arouse = messy (actually hardly can get arouse but touch-ed)

4) Dry, definitely dry.. its worse when breastfeeding... something about the hormones they say

5) Needless to say, not sexy .. don't think, don't feel, don't want

But it gets better with time and of course trys...guess its mind over matter...

I spoke to mummies around and it seems that some start after 4 months, some rely on the "lub", some are best friends with the left and the right hand, some remain chaste (they say its going to be a while), some just do it for the sake of doing, one I know lost the hb to other organ (sad and F%*^*&(* bastard, I say)

Any man reading this, be patient...

Being SAHM

SAHM: Stay at home mom

Its been 4 mths, time passes really fast with this little one. We wake up everyday at about 1130-1200, its usually her coos and singing that wakes me up for I can sleep more haha... I have watched her many times and pretend to be sleeping, she will always look at me to see if I'm awake, if not she will lie there playing with her fingers and continue singing. She waits for that moment when I open my eyes and will always greet me with a beautiful smile. DD T always waits for this moment during the weekends and absoutely loves it. He says it melts his heart. For me, I feel really blessed to be able to spend all my time with her despite how difficult it may be.

For some mummies they say the 1st 3 months was a breeze as their babies sleeps alot. But for our case, its totally different. We had a hard time in the intial stage as she was crying alot and didn't know what she wanted.

I read alot and tried implement all sorts of routines into her life for that was what the books says with advices from the elders. Feeding her at a schedule, sleeping at certain times, no co-sleeping, no association of any sorts to falling asleep, strapping her in her infant carseat etc.. But you know, they all didn't work for her, she will be screaming alot, crying non-stop. It all changed that one day when we went to get her 6 in 1 jab, after getting her jab, she screamed so loud and cried till she had no more voice, (mind you, she was about 2 1/2 mths then) the PD looked up and asked us if she does this often. We were like ermm 2-3 times but she cries alot. PD told us that she is a "BREATH-HOLDER" baby, meaning a baby capable of crying till she turns blue cause of breath holding. She advised not to allow BB [V] to continue with this behaviour as she once had a baby that had fits because of this.

I remembered we were so lost, from that day onwards we never impose any form of the "routines" and we followed her cues instead. We let her wake up whenever, feed her when she cries for milk, stopped putting her into her crib(she hates it) she co-sleeps with us, sleeps on me if she wants to, I did whatever she wanted. Lo and behold! that was the time that she stopped wanting the pacifier and has since stopped screaming.

It made me realized one thing, routines are created so that the adults have a easier time. Human beings have been moulded to follow the clock so that they can plan their time better. But does babies actually know what is time all about? Since that day, I have sinced stopped looking at the clock and followed my heart as I feel that my baby thrives best at this environment. The grandparents noted the difference in BB [V] too, for she is always smiling and hardly cries now. I guess everthing will fall into place one day without forcing.

So back to what we do at home, after I wake up I will let her watch OKTO while I shower and prepare her bath. After her bath, we will play for a while on her mat, do a bit of flipping, turning, "crawling". The minute she starts grumbling, I will move her to her rocker chair where she will watch either of her "Baby Einstein", "Baby Signs", "Hi-5". During this time I will run to do my things or if I have nothing to do I will watch with her and surf the internet at the same time. Feed her or nap or change diaper after that, in no particular order. We usually do a 2-3 hr nap at 5pm and wake up just in time for DD T to come back from work, have dinner, play as a family. By 11pm both of them will be in their "lala" land, while I finally get my "me" time.

Like what you read, I don't do housework. Maybe do laundry one week once, only her clothes or home clothes. Any clothes that requires ironing is packed in a bag and brought to Aunty Nita. We take turns to drymop the floor, whoever is free to do it and major cleaning is done by a part time helper. No cooking as we have dinner delivery. So you can see the time is totally devoted to BB[V], DD T has zero expectations from me as he knows the demands of our girl, for she doesn't like to be left alone. It is okay to be doing something else as long I am next to her.

I really admire my downstairs neighbour, she washes loads, like 8 bamboo sticks with extension of 20 hangers hung on her windows, (us is max 4 sticks)... Cooks power packed dinner, mainly curries for the smells are heavens! looks after 2 young boys and is preggie with her 3rd! WTF right... I pity her lots, poor thing. I mean I admire her alot but what ass life is that? No helper you know, pregnant you know, 2 boys you know, her young boy is less than 1 yr old you know! Guess its normal for her religon. Bless her.

I guess the time will come when I return to the workforce but we have decided it will not be so soon. We got to sacrifice our expensive shopping and indulge in only what is necessary. But I am enjoying this, as I have been working full time since 18 years old. What better time to stop and smell the flowers for its only a few years out of many till 65 years old right? Maybe in years to come, retirement age will be 75? Then taking a year or so off isn't that bad. What better time to do so by watching the princess blossom.

30 may Everton vs Chelsea

It was a big night for DD T as it was a big game for his favourite team Everton. Despite that they didn't win but we had a fun night bonding...

and who says daughters can't have fun with daddys... as we couldn't find an infant Everton kit so I dressed her in her boy boy shirt while DD T had his jersey on...

Wassup?

Oh FOOTBALL... I remember listening to this before... but what is it all about?

Mummy , care to explain?

So exciting... oh GOAL!

Goal?

More Goal?

Pui Chelsea, my Daddy's team was MORE cool...

In conversation with....

WE don't know if this is common amongst babies, for she can go on and on... she was barely 4 mths in this 2 videos.. We think we have a yabba daba baby, for she is one who is going to ask many questions... WHY WHY WHY, Mummy, Daddy why is the sky so high???

I dread the day, for I don't have answers to many questions in life...

The road less travelled

went out to collect my stoopid lappie ...

Since mummy is the child's best education, I decided to show BB [V] something different instead of the usual shopping centres. Along her education tour, I took some pictures to show her how it was in year 2009 . I guess by the time she reads this blog, it would be 10 years down. Since this blog is a gift to her, I am hoping that my electronic journal will not disappear suddenly..arrgggg I will faint... so I am considering about "dot com-ing" this blog, but gotta pay monies...

Really need to blog more but this lappie is killing me slowly but surely. Guess its not much the brand but the M vista is really not very friendly, its so SLOW! But I have decide on my new lappie!! yipee, will get it next week.. then maybe I will be more motivated.

Her history tour...

this is fun mummy...

I'm a singaporean for 30 years and have never taken this route and have this singapore photos in my collection.. I don't have a folder "Singapore" and I have alot of countries in my collection.. its amazing what motherhood does/is doing to me.

one photo for kepts, the building that will change our skyline forever..

ermm mummy..enuf? i want aircon...

Then it got REALLY hot, so we went to Marina Square for some retail therapy and waited for DD T for dinner.. He always makes it a point to come and pick us where ever we go. I was dying for a nice burger but guess this restaurant didn't fufill my expectations. It really sucks when you pay good money for crap food. Damn boring..

Yup, I'm back to my restaurant eating. *sings* "Its all coming back, coming back to me now......... "

My westernized appetite when I was preggie is diminishing slowly. But ONE thing I realized that changed my appetite forever, I think is TEA.. I was never a fan of caffeinated drinks with the exception of alcohol, no coffee or tea, errmm hardly was in my list. You can never find me in starbucks or "sarabut" store chilling cause I don't like. But ever since this pregnancy, I actually enjoying drinking tea. Damn weird, not healthy green tea, herbal tea... must be the thick, thick, sweet like hell type. Like teh tarik, bubble milk tea, hongkong milk tea. (Damn sinful) Well we will see how long this thing will last...BB [V]'s "englishness" did kinda influence my taste buds a little.

Since dinner SUCK-ED.. DD T wanted to cleanse his platelet with a nice japanese hokkaido ice-cream

daddy, i want

mummy can?

yums yums...

*drools* *pouts* why?

4th Month

she is 6.2kg and 61.7cm

She is still not drinking milk, nothing more than 50ml each time and I have to keep forcing her to drink, as she hardly cries for milk... drinks about 50ml and is contented, if I don't force her she can go 4 hours without drinking and still drink only 50ml.. How? babies of her age have already progess to 150ml each feed.

I have to constantly latch her just to ensure that something is going into the stomach... PD says its fine as long she is growing well, but did give us probitics to see if she improves. (as there are infant anoxeria babies; maybe she wants to be a model?) Theoretically, bb must double their birth weight by 6 months, so its a good thing is that BB [V] was a big bb at birth thats why its not much of a concern.

Mummy, skinny is IN

VOGUE!

But I did mention that she drinks alot at night asking for milk at least every 2 hours, Pd says that BB [V] is more excited about her surroundings than food in the day and gets hungry at night because there isn't any distraction...(so i have a KPO baby). I totally agree as BB[V]'s eyes are always darting around left right left right, always damn busy. She is not like those babies that can sit in their chair for 2 hours, balls to the world by playing with their fingers.. mine, hrmpfff 15 mins tops, after which she will start her nonsense.

Mummy, I dont like to study!

Jumperoo! yippeee... this is better !

I'm so trying to give her the pacificer since the day when she discovered her thumb! but obviously failed badly.. told PD about it and she was like for what? I said pacificer better than thumb right? but she was like nevermind bb will wean off the thumb. Asked me if the pacificer is working and I said nope, she said I can try all brands but if the bb is not into pacificer means she is not into.. doesnt matter what brand.. okay flopped. Its funny how people loves the idea of thumb sucking, everyone comes up to me and say oh so cute! (cute?? mummy here wondering how to wean her off.. oh what the heck suck lar!)

Mummy shiok u know.. want?

PD is very pleased with her gross motor skills as she is well beyond her age, showing signs of crawling actions. She said that BB[V] is not a textbook baby meaning she does things faster than what the books recommend.

Okay I have a KPO, "Model", Active baby..

Besides the fact she doesnt drink, she hardly sleeps too.. if I'm out with many people , sleep is hardly on her cards as she wants to sit on my lap and hear whats the latest. She loves people, any and everybody can carry her and she will not cry. She is her quietest when there are many people around, best if they are taking turns to carry her, you will never hear her cry at all. All because she is so busy kpo-ing.

But we do make alot of effort to expose her to the grandparents on both sides. I read that babies start recognizing people by 3-4 months. So we have been going up and down to both sides to stay over, so as to make sure she is familar with the family members.

On her 4th month, chinese god ma ask me to "touch" BB [V]'s lips with some food, its some chinesey thing that they perform on the 4th month. Apparently its like "kai jui = open mouth", so that the child gets good food or not fussy with food; something along that line. She gave ang bao again hehehe.. So on that day, ermm we obviously didnt cook, so got her.....

yumms yumms BIG MAC

then we tot a DRUMSTICK will be more appropriate LOL

ME:

The minute we touched the 3rd month, both our hair started to fall out. So I did a slight trim as my long hair was much to heavy thus causing it to drop more and the weather!! Man, its making the hair go haywired cause of the humidity. At the same time i did "soft straight" too, before you all go why straighten your hair? your natural curl so nice blah blah blah.... my hair NEVER GETS STRAIGHT. IT lasted 2days and it back, of couse not as curly but still there lar.

2 days after my haircut.. the waves were appearing...

Its getting easier to look after her though she has her nonsense but she is such a joy to be with. I am still very contended to stay at home with her and don't wish to go back to work any time soon. There are some job offers but I prefer to spend time with her and watch her grow up. We have discuss this and DD T too agree that I shouldn't work as not many people have this luck like mine to do this, so I must treasure this opportunity.

Pressie

during pregnancy, i casually mention that dd t should buy me a gift to motivate me not to take epidural during labour.. he said onzz

The day after I delivered, Daddy Trev said I deserved something more that a gift, it should be a present.

It has been 3 1/2 months and I have absolutely no idea what I want and he has since stopped asking.

I usually buy a

1)Watch; to commemorate something big in my life but he just bought me my R men's size watch for my 30th. I am eyeing at a Chopard or a Gerald Genta and both costs a whopping many zeros sum. (Yes I do have expensive taste.) But now, my drawer is filled with my precious collection of watches over the years and I can't wear them as it keeps hitting BB [V]'s head, if not its pulling her hair off. I have since stopped wearing them.

He usually buy

2)Bag; its his practice to buy me a bag as he can't afford my watches. But there is no point buying a bag now as it will go out of fashion by the time I wanna carry it, since I only carry her diaper bag when I go out now. Then of course a Bottega will be nice but it doesn't have a zip as I have dropped a few things from my G bag. (It of course has retired.)

I don't mind

3)Car; I did thought of buying a car, then he ask for what?? As I hardly drive haha, I said if I have my own car I will drive. I said a cute Cherry will do, he said he will not buy something for me to die inside. (*__*) For he has a nice M car for me to drive and I rather drive a small cherry.

Should I

4)Studies; Just that day, I was online and aunty ferny was doing her project and I helped her a little. So I told DD T that I kinda enjoy doing the research and maybe I should study. He said why not, maybe I should do another degree in something I like or continue from my BBA. Was toying with that idea till that day we were at macdonalds and saw a couple studying. On their table was a stack of books and it was 'Statistics'. It brought horror thoughts as it was a huge nightmare going through this course.

Then there is the

5) DD T ask me if I was keen in starting in my own business and that he will finance it. I was like for what? He ask me to find something that I like to do or sell... but I don't want

I don't mind getting

6) a professional camera to take nice nice pictures for BB [V] but am afraid I will get bored as its heavy to lug it around.

See... how now like that? got pressie but dunze koe what to get...

Flip Flop

her 1st flip of her lifetime... mark 7th May 09

Monday, May 4, 2009

The 3rd Month

she is 5.7kg and 60.5cm

BB [V] is so light at 5.7kg , its only a 50% growth percentile I don't like it. She has been super fussy with drinking milk and can't even finish her normal 100ml of milk, drinking only 30-50 ml each time. I have since stopped pumping my milk and will latch her instead as I really think its pointless to spend so much time pumping and there she is crying away. I am looking after her alone and its tough chasing after the time with a schedule of 3 hours just to maintain/up the milk supply.

Besides its totally frustrating as she can't keep quiet and wants to play or be carried. I just do one pump at night to clear out all the milk before sleeping and I don't like the fact that my fridge has so much milk as I rather that she drinks them. I hope she gets out of this anorexia behaviour.

Her height is of 90% growth percentile and so I am not so worried as I think she has DD T genes and her weight comes mainly from her limbs as they are relatively long. I have been trying all sorts of ways to fatten her up as I would love her to be chubby chuckers, but failed in all. I tried giving her formula milk too but....still waiting to promote her into her other clothes. I mean she can still fit into a romper meant for 2-3.2kg.!

At about 2-3 weeks ago, she woke up one day and decided that she doesn't want the pacificer anymore! Yahoo!!! 1st milestone.. We thought that the pacifier has lost its buoyancy and rushed to get new ones but she spat it out.So much for me hesitating to give her in the 1st place. Haiz, should have stuff it in her mouth to prevent all the fussing.

Then comes the next issue, she has ZERO ability to fall asleep on her own and needs to be carried constantly till she gets drowsy. She can't self soothe, so I have been walking alot lately and am having aches. This happens outside too, I have resorted to taking the MRT to move around. She likes taking trains as I think its constantly moving and she doses off easily and I LIKE. No cabs for her cause when she cries, I fear for our safety as its super distracting for the taxi driver. I tried a few times and hmmmf .. not ready yet. I do need to start driving but its tough with a crying/breastfeeding baby, so I guess MRT will do for now. (at least when she cries, I just get off the next station.. hehe)

She sleeps on our bed with us at night as she refuses to be in the cot and screams when we put her there. So we suffer... spoke to the Dr about this and she says that BB [V] is smart and knows where is the most comfortable. Guess she just wants our warmth and security, Dr says we can keep her there until when she sleeps through then we can start training her. One thing I like about her sleeping is that she can sleep from 11- 1230 hehe.. Power right! Everyone gets a shock when they hear of her sleeping pattern...

My neck is getting stronger now

I like eating my hands

Mummy teaching me "ELEPHANT"

Mummy likes to put hairbands for me.. pretty pretty

My stylo mylo shoes

So many things on me.. sianz

ME:

Nothing much going now lately.. just wish for more time to relax haha.. but I guess it comes in a package

I put on 15kg and have another 5 kg to go sianz sianz...But I am aiming for 7 kg , I mean who won't want to lose more right? I do try to weigh myself everyday but its kinda depressing, but my ever supportive husband will constantly tell me that I will lose all the weight SOON. Then he will ALSO constantly offer chocloates, junk food, ice cream......so much for losing weight!!!

I have been devoting all my time in the day with her and will only spend some me time at night after she has fallen deeply alseep. There has been a lot of shopping trips as I am going mad staying at home, dealing with the crying and feeding. The weather has been really bad and so I seek solace and comfort in the malls.(brings my sanity back by spending money hehe)

Mummy shopping, I zzzzzzzzzzzz

DD Trev flipped when he had to pay $29 for a hairband

MM Flo didn't care...she says its too pretty
