We completed our tour at the Tropical Fruit World and was seriously not interested in their cafe food. I was dying to eat Fish & Chips and asked for recommendations. Somehow no 3G is a great idea for it makes me wanting to ask for directions than to quickly key into my smartphone. I was given directions to the nearest city which is surprisingly by the beach! Not a toughie and the GPS was able to guide us in 10 mins. We found a lot the minute we turned in and low and behold, it was right in front of a Fish and Chips joint!

We sniffed around and saw that it was do-able, everything was welcoming. Did a quick order and settled in.

 

Cant miss it. It's the 5-6 shops from the turn into the quaint town

V ate ALL her fish, which by the way is a feat as she doesn't like fish much. K was quiet the whole time which allowed me and T to savour this. Not until she decides to spill her glass of water and messed up herself.

Gold Coast - Alfresco Italian on Elston

This is my last review of the restaurants we ate in Gold Coast. But has to be my personal favourite coz I'm still thinking about it. Damn, coz its a 7 hrs flight away.  I'm kicking myself for not choosing to eat this on or 1st day so that I get many nights to re-eat here. But guess good food are meant to be in our memories till you get to savour another that surpasses. It's miserable to think abot it coz I am still missing my St Louis ribs that I had in Toronto.

Seriously needed that drink after 5 comprehensive days of travel. $28 bucks!!! ONE bottle!!

I was missing my spice and requested for tabasco or something. But Les the server brought me something that rocked my sock!

I tell you, this Trinidad chilli rocked my meal!! If you are like me, someone who loves spice and needs it in your life. I recommend that you make 1 trip here and have this.  Note this when you go shopping, Trinidad Scorpion Butch Chilli. I am so finding it and blending it with olive oil.

Barney's Word Of Imagination At City Square Mall - June Holidays

{Media Event} We made a trip to Barney's 1st show on the 7th June coz we are fans of the purple dinosaur hehe! It was our 1st mall show coz in our early years with V, we actually do pay to watch concerts thinking it will be what she "likes", oh my the folly of new parents and its investments. With my #2, we have grown smarter and select shows that are worth our time.  I must say it was definitely worth the time spent as the attention span of a young child  is limited. It was filled with Barney's popular songs like Mister Sun, Mr Kickerbocker and of course they didn't miss out their anthem.

Make that trip to watch this, for $50 stretches your dollar far and much.  This is true coming from 1 family who once spend $200++ to watch Barney talk too much and sing too little.  Interestingly, Victoria cried after watching for she "missed" Barney, she did the same after her 2010 concert. Kate didn't care much that she left purpledom. *Disclosure: We wre invited to watch the event , made the trip on our own accord and enjoyed this 20 mins of song and dance.

Teething - 2nd molars

I woke up to Kate's screams this morning,  mornings are not my thing but the hb is not around to take over so today is a morning of single parenting. That's the thing when the hb is not in town, some how the children will be up to "mischief" I gave her many hugs and carried her to sleep while she continued crying.  It's one of those days, I wonder if she is dreaming or if she is in pain. K is one of those babies that sleeps through since infant *ptl, I guess God decided that since #1 was a nightmare and pitied us hehhe.

When we woke up naturally, K though not chirpy still gave me a big smile until I moved her and bam she started screaming nonstop. My helper came to take them for their morning milk while I freshened up. On days like this, I am totally grateful to be staying in an extended family like seriously. If it was back to my sahm.no help.alone days, I won't be able to do that dump.  I will have to make that crazy choice to let the baby scream the house down or poo in my pants or better still, all mummies know the "carry the baby while you get things done" days.

But this morning, I could hear everyone at home coaxing her to stop crying and it was peace to me, I mean my anxiety was coaxed too, knowing my screaming child had that attention she needed.  Kate was just bursts of screaming/crying and we really panicked coz she seem to be in pain.  We spent 1 good 1/2 hour trying to decipher where the pain is at. Kate just went on pointing to her head, throat, pointed to her blisters, her ears, her stomach, her dead skin on her fingers, then her toe nails. Basically everywhere la! Poor child was confused and causing us the confusion too. I decided it needed a visit to the doctors coz it could be her throat having an infection coz the grannies was insisting on it coz she was putting the rubber duckies in her mouth and we all know how fility those are.  Kate kept pointing to her face/ears/throat too.  I succumbed to ice in the morning and she was merry. It's a sure work with my kids coz ice is a luxury  especially at 9am in the morning!  She stopped crying and  was happy, it got us thinking it could be her teeth!!

My gawd, sometimes you forget about that teething thing you know.  The nightmare that causes parents insomnia! We checked and true enough it seems slighly swollen but not read. I counted her months and she turned 20 months 2 days ago. It's like how can I forget right? With V, the teething chart was in my handphone man, I waited for it to happen wahahha!

Snapsack launches in Singapore

It's been a while since we have gone for our blogging duties together.  I didn't need to think hard on this since the timing was great and the location was just 5 mins away from V's school. So today we introduce SNAP SACK.  I will show you some photos 1st    Looks fun right? I totally dig the whole concept of this crafty bag, it encourages craft in the child and making them think about recycling their cards,  stickers, decal.  Besides that it helps them to build that identity by creating a design on their bag constantly. I'm sure most of us parents have done the upcycling tote bag where we make use of cloth markers to create designs like this. But eventually the child loses interest in it coz it doesn't quite match their outfit. *especially if you have girls! So eventually you spent great bonding time crafting  a tote bag which eventually is used to store her school assessments books.

It started with the business introduction by the Creator Anna Hart and a endearing speech by her daughter Zoe. I love how the concept of the product came about and how they are passionate about giving back to the society with every bag that is sold. They support Room to Read- it is an organization that focuses literacy and gender equlity  in education.  Let's see what did Victoria create today.
