Kids Fest is Back!!!

V and I love their productions!! This popular festival returns from 15th January to 9th February 2014 with 9 international theatre productions.

Recommended for the little ones aged 3 to 8 years old

1. The Gruffalo 

Mouse managed to scare hungry animals away with stories of the terrifying Gruffalo, but what happens when he comes face to face with the very creature he imagines? Join Mouse on an adventurous journey through the deep dark wood in this magical musical adaptation of the award-winning book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.

2. The Gruffalo’s Child

One wild and windy night, the Gruffalo's Child ignored her father's warning and tiptoed out into the snow. After all, the Big Bad Mouse doesn't really exist... does he? Following The Gruffalo come its sequel, The Gruffalo’s Child; another best-selling children’s book that trails Gruffalo’s Child adventure into the 'deep dark wood' to find the 'big bad mouse', the one thing her father, The Gruffalo is afraid of.

3. What the Ladybird heard




Two crafty robbers with a cunning plan to steal the farmer’s fine prize cow. Find out how one tiny ladybird saved the day! With live music, puppetry and plenty of audience participation, join the woolly sheep, the hairy hog, the fat red hen and the dainty dog on a farmyard adventure.

4. We’re Going on a Bear Hunt

Join the adventurers on their quest to find a bear; as they wade through swishy swashy grass, the splishy splashy river and thick oozy, squelchy mud! Expect catchy songs, interactive scenes and plenty of hands-on adventure - plus a few special surprises!

5. The Boy Who Cried Wolf


Inspired by the famous Aesop fable, this is a beautiful wintery tale about a boy, unable to find delight in what is around him and instead seeks adventure, excitement and the thrill of the unknown!

6. The Snow Dragon

Billy has everything a young goat could need. On New Year's Eve, Billy's parents tell him about the legendary Snow Dragon, who will bring him even more goodies during the night. But when Billy bumps into some wolves in the woods, New Year's Day seems a long way off. Find out how Billy escapes - and whether the Snow Dragon will bring him a present.

Recommended for older kids aged 6 to 14 years old

7. Horrible Histories Terrible Tudors 

Learn about the Tudors from none other than Henry the 8th. From the horrible Henries to the evil Elizabeth, hear the legend (and the lies!); find out the fate of Henry's headless wives and his punch up with the Pope!

8. Horrible Histories Awful Egyptians

From the fascinating Pharaohs to the power of the pyramids, discover the foul facts of death and decay with the meanest mummies in town - find out why they made their mummies and how they did it!
History has never before been so enthralling If you’re a history-buff, you’ve got to check out these two plays by the HORRIBLE HISTORIES team.

Recommended for older kids aged 10 to 18 years old

9. Private Peaceful 

relives the life of Private Tommo Peaceful, a young First World War soldier awaiting the firing squad at dawn. A look back at his past growing up in rural Devon; his exciting first days at school; the accident in the forest that killed his father; his adventures with Molly, the love of his life; and the battles and injustices of war that brought him to the front line.
