Style and Fashion 2015

Just an update of what is to come for the next 6 months. True to FloMummy's style, I will only recommend readers style items that affordable and yet it can make you look trendy. The trends I am concentrating on this post on mummy wearables which will have my reccomendations on your new hair do and colour, maybe buy some new pieces to look current while you to run around with the children. Of course carry a new bag and wear a new pair of sandals rather than your usual havaianas………. All without breaking the bank.

HAIR

Lob also known as Long Bob.
Things that make you look older than you are has to be the hair. If you are in dire straits to get a new cut and have absolutely no guts to go bob. Try this! Guarantee to make you look fresh and please get a nice warm colour along with it.

Big Ribbon are a great clip to have it you are growing out your hair. It goes very well with the korean fashion and I find it very useful on days I run out of time to blow dry my hair. Please don't use scrunchie :(

The latest hair trend is Babylights, the highlights are very fine and subtle which are designed to mimic the sunkissed tones that your hair would naturally have. This look is super low maintance and all you have to do is ensure that your hair looks dynamic and really healthy.

Instyle
Pleating your hair is going to instantly look like you are so IN. No joke. If you can't braid then this will immediately make you look damn pro.

ACCESSORIES

I have been on a search for the right floppy hat for Singapore's weather. Winter is just over and all we got here in the shops are wool floppy hats. It is way too hot for our weather!! Imagine sweat beads accumulated in our floppy hats!

Panama Hat has been around for a while but this has creeping into the Singapore shores. I guess it has been accepted as someting useful that blocks the sun, simple enough to pair and yet it doesn't scream LOOK AT ME.

The must have brand would have to be Chrome hearts baseball cap right? This look would be the most trendy for mummies who love to be in their shorts. It will immediately spruce up an oufit and you can look stylish quick enough.

       Chrome Hearts

Mansur Gavriel Bucket bag seems to be the bags that keeps popping up on my reads and instagram. If you are not travelling to grab this overseas but is dying for a similar bag, I saw it on pssttt (Sandy Trove)

We need to stop wearing slippers.. period. I found these 2 gorgeous looking sandals that can go really well with the current midi skirts and culottes. This can help us without loading us with the weights we suffer with when we attempt to wear heels and carry the children.

Fashion
Culottes are a blast from the past! To think I used to wear this style to clubbing! I am very excited about this comfy culottes as it is so wearable to go out with the kiddo and rough it out. It even comes with pockets!
Smoochthelabel.com
Kimono tops are great! Soft and fresh looking to spruce up any outfit.  I love the especially the spring motifs. These the type of tops you can safely keep in the closet and bring it out every spring.
Stylebystef
I love how if you put both looks together, minimalist and functional.

River Island

If you are looking for prints, keep a look out for the Big Flower Motif. This particular print is everywhere from dresses to midi skirts. Even Zoe Tay wore it to Star Awards 2015!

Makeup

Korean Makeup are still trending and please contact me if you have not learn the latest makeup looks! Lips are bright and you can tone it down by layering it on your nude lippie!

{Style}
Sydne-Style-A-to-Z-Trend-Guide-Spring-Summer-2014-New-York-Fashion-Week-Runway-Kate-Spade-BCBG-Ralph-Lauren-Nicole-Miller-
My focus for this trip are the children and I need to be really comfortable with the  temperature fluctuating from 24 to 13 degrees in a day. Pockets for to keep my handphone on me without the need to carry a bag for I will be in charge to carry Kate who btw is a heavyweight.  So after much thought,  I decided to pair my Blacks and Whites with a pair of trusty jeans and a dotty (dots are a very current print) winter coat that I got from my last trip to Las Vegas.  Then it won't be Florinda if I don't pair it with my statement accessories! Stay tuned for my post after my trip where I share with you the details of the outfits for the photos do not do justice to the mixed materials and designs that I specially chose !

Yummy Mummy- Post pregnancy

I am going to share with you some tips for mummies who are suffering from Style Deficiency after birth! Totally understand what YOU are going through especially after 6 whole months of NO Heels, Loose clothes, Unexpected Radiant skin and suddenly you are expected to look awesome when you return to the workforce.  But this time round, you have leaking boobies, greying roots, flabby arms, wobbly tummy, thick legs that doesnt allow you to walk in that pair of heels.  Here are some answers to help you decide what to pull out from your existing wardrobe and get new ones.  Those who have attended my workshops will know that the trends  I pick are style forward and you are guaranteed to see it in the market soon. Fashion in Singapore are 6 months behind and so if you shop online in overseas website you can wear it just in time for work.
What kinds of of outfits/basics to get for work wear? Especially to cover Flabby Belly, Fuller hips and Thighs, Flabby arms.
The best way to look good is to look trendy. Look for current styles that you can incorporate from pregnancy to post.
1. White on White: This is very current and even if you look tired, white brightens you up real fast.

4. Belt it: I hope you ladies didn't buy maternity dresses! What you can do is buy 1 size larger and belt it after birth. These dresses will last you 6months-1 year after birth. Please use thin - mid sized belts to avoid attention onto your tummy.

What are the versatile colours for workwear?
43You are in Luck! Colours like Black, White, Grey and blues are IN! To be precise it has to Monochrome, Aluminium & Navy Blues *oppsy.  Nevertheless here are some colours that are in Singapore and you can start investing in these as they are colours of 2015.

43For Mummies who are expressing milk, what are suitable yet professional choices that give access?
Most mummies will invest in nursing tops but may I suggest not to wear them to work. Mainly because nursing tops are meant for you to be worn when you nurse the baby = the baby MUST be with you.  Look into getting tops or dresses that has front buttons till the waist so that you need not remove the whole piece just to express.  Consider wearing a top and a bandeau bra instead of fumbling with clips of a nursing bra.
What  are some quick confidence tips?
1. Fix your hair. For those who are breastfeeding , may I suggest Keratin Treatment at FDP. ( I personally do find it in treatment wise very safe for BF mummies) It's similar to rebond but without heat and it helps tame hair especially in our weather. Those who are greying can also ask them for their ammonia free dye that guarantees to cover greying for 45 washes.  Ask Angeline for help as she does my hair colour + treatment.
2.  Mask your face, do the works. Deep cleansing, hydration, anti ageing and do not rely on your facialist. Personal knowledge on your skin is the most important investment you can do for yourself. Get back that glow and WOW everyone.
3. Revamp your makeup products. Pick up new trends to spruce up your look to look youthful. If makeup products all looks the same, please ask for help.
4. If all things fail. Change your lipstick colour. Period.

My new hairdo - Colour

Got my hair fix last week and got requested for a review by my FB friends and so here it is.

{This is not a sponsored post, I paid}

I have been pondering how how to fix my hair for it was driving me insane with the fact that its just a blah... no volume, just poor messy coz I'm trying to grow it out. Though of curling the korean way like this, so sweet right? Then I thought sweet is not I am looking for this season.  So I search around for colours instead.

Wanted something ash colour for its a cool tone and will suit me much

Though hard and its like shoulder hair length needs more pop than that right? Okie I mean in my opinion la. So googled more and love love love this!
But I swear this is too over right wahahah. Spoke to my stylist and she search around for some colours but it seems meh. So after everything, I scrap all my ideas and went straighten just to tame my natural curls. My curls are only manageable when longer so its back to straight and blah hair. Eventually my mood got stagnant, like all my creative juices were blocked. I look into my wardrobe and didn't get inspired to mix and match them.  Bought new clothes and it just didn't happen, then I knew the hair patrol needs to intervene. LOL

Googled and got Salon Vim high on the bloggers list and read alot to fiqure that this is worth a try. It's at 313 which is just opposite my office, makes it so darn convenient to just run in between my makeup/skinacare classes. I got stylist Lilian and she suggested to bleach half my hair. Ya like omg.. I was just think of streaks but nevermind went again with her suggestion. So it was a 3 hours or so ordeal, came with a $400 price tag. Does price and service tally? Nope in my opinion, I had the same cup of green tea for 3 hours. Nobody bothered to top it up or at least check. My last hair treatment at Century Sq at $235 got me nice hot drinks top ups, its not the drink that mattered, Is just about asking.   The magazines that was placed on my table was not my preference and I didn't touch it for 2 hours and well, nobody bothered about it. The last time I paid $400 for my hair, I was a Queen.

But I must say I managed to do their popular Prive treatment and it rocked man! My hair felt fuller coz its a moisture treatment, will recco that if you have the budget. I didn't do any cut for I was waiting for my hairstylist to be back from UK, would still prefer her. Stylist Lilian and assistant stylist was awesome with no hard selling, I went in knowing that it will not be cheap. Lilian calculated everything with me during my consultantion and we did have a long consult for the colours we should use.

I may give this place 1 more try for touchup .

{But I must comment that the receptionist are just pure cmi. Its like you have nice hair and nice service, then when its time to paid... you feel like how did I ever bother coming in here? Paying $400 is alot of money to get that crap attitude. Anyways, they need to fiqure out that training aspect coz having skills and good product is not everything now. I basically left with a NIL feel good factor, which I think is sad. I had to quote one of our mummy blogger name to get a 10%, (she made it like I don't deserve it , like wth?) Then I gave her MOTHERKAO and she was going on like "mummther, mommth, m... oh there is no such name" you got it wrong. So I quoted blogger name , and she was like no such person. For crying out loud, mother is M.O.T.H.E.R, (okie u can tell I am not pleased). Her face throughout that 5 torturing minutes was just zzzz. To think I had to dig out my gf's post and prove to her, then her face finally changed and gave me that 10%. On top of that I HAD TO PAY HER that $360+ , buay siong. Oh may I add, no please, no thank you, no im sorry. NOTHING. It was like I was in a coffeeshop talking to someone on my next table. Then finally, at the end she gave me back my Credit card and pass back to me with a low decibel Thank you, with her eyes ON MY CARD. I was just looking at her waiting for that eye contact. NOTHING. If this post ever goes back to the Salon, I just hope they do a proper training.}

Here is some photos of the hair colour. I did ASH whole head (I believe it was 6.1 colour) and added Purple onto my bleached hair (3/4 of my whole head). It looked blueish for the 1st 3 days and eventually faded to the ideal colour(which I know will continue to fade more). The whole head ASH colour faded and became really pretty.  The day 3 and day 4 photos are just wash and casually blow thats why its pretty messy. But you can still see its hair glow, please pardon my hair... I have natural curls that are soon to be back!

I totally love love love my new hair, V says I look like Twighlight and Rarity. I don't know what she was talking about and googled to find these . wahahah.. I certainly do right!

I totally feel lighter and awesome with my new do, oh did I mention I had to buy colour shampoo, colour conditioner, new hair mask, new hair brush just to maintain my new tresses. New meaning in life for the next few months!!

Flolookbook- New Year New makeup looks

Think this year I am going to attempt to blog some looks, I do this everyday anyway, so why don't I just blog it down!!!

So I have been noticing the trend of makeup of the young- er- est lately.  I don'y usually agree on their trends much but this time, I kinda like it a lot. So I attempted the look casually and it turned out pretty cute, don't you think?

STAINED LIPS: I do quite like the stained lips look, although some put too much concealer on the lips! eh not quite keen on eating it. (blog credit: http://lifeasart215.blogspot.sg/2013/01/review-tony-moly-lip-tint-minis.html)

UNDEREYE BLUSH : Then the other thing worth mentioning is the blusher, the cutesy way of apply it. We used to put at the apples, if not just skip it. But now, its just under the eyes! (blog credit : http://memila.blogspot.sg/2013/06/undereye-blush.html)

So I attempted it today and viola!!! I must say I do look younger!! I need to redo my eyes to attempt the kawaii look but I like my Chinese slit eyes lei and after spending so much on lasik, its pretty silly to wear the big eye contacts right? Never mind I will the look try out without and see the outcome!

Here is me doing a quick 10 mins look, I really did a quick one coz its 1st day of school! Will try a more detailed one to refine some flaws :o!!

Skin:

Start by applying a Mary Kay foundation Primer  to create a moisturised canvas, minimised pores and lasting makeup. If you have oily complexion, apply a Mary Kay Oil Mattifier

Eyes:

Apply Mary Kay Black Pearl at the side to lengthen, and lower lash. Follow by a subtle application of Mary Kay Gold Coast to enhance lower lash and corner of eyes. Follow by Mary Kay Love Lash both top and bottom.

Cheeks
Apply blusher, I used Mary Kay Sheer Dimension Ribbon to the under eyes. Highlight undereye, nose bridge with Mary Kay Facial Highlighter

Lips
Apply Mary Kay True Dimension - Wild about Pink to lips and create the stained lips effect.
