V's school has preference for not gifting sweets/chocloates for their goodie bags. Mainly to avoid allergies in children I believe. So I did a bit of research and decided to make playdough with just 2 ingredients!! I broke the costings for those who are keen. I wanted to buy glass jars at $2 a jar but was advised not to gift glass as most children cannot handle glass well at this young age. So I got those plastic containers that they can reuse after their sensory play.
Makes 18 packets of zipock = 6 containers
- Cornflour 200 grams $2
- Hair Conditioner 600 ml $7
I did for 30 students. So my total cost was about less than $3 a child.
- Container $2 for 3=$30
- Colouring $1.80 x3=$5.40
- Ziplock 100 pcs=$3
- Ribbons 10 m $3.50 x3=$10.5
- Printed cards 30 pieces for $5=$5

2 parts cornstarch to 1 part hair conditioner |
|
Use a mixing bowl, we started with a container and it was too small |
|
Add in colours! for pastel looking ones, 1 drop is sufficient |
|
Get the young one involved! |
|
Don't forget the birthday girl and the husband! |
|
U can do 1 colour or 3! |
|
I got these printed on cards, but I believe paper will do just as great |

Ribbons to spruce up any gift.. everytime. |
We found making the playdough very therapeutic. Besides that, the whole house smells like hair conditioner and the children get much joy mixing the dough! Definitely "Handmade with Love", I chose to use ziplock as its airtight since playdough dries out very fast! It's more convenient for the children to put it back into the bags after playing, making this gift re-useable. We believe all parents would love to get gifts the children can play with or use. Love this recipe!!

Wow. Cool. Looks easy enough and the card's lovely too. :)
Hey! The packaging looks great! I just did it last week for ice-cream play dough, the children loved it!
