Halia Restaurant

I guess a lot of you wonder how I spend my days with V ...

I have been venturing into nice great restaurants to satisfy my cravings for food; ever since I stopped Breastfeeding, I have wanting to satisfy alot of my gourmet cravings...Not that I'm pregnant la, just that when I was BF, ate a lot of fish. fish. fish. So
now I want to eat back the foods that I missed.

Its summer now in Europe means Freaking hellva lots of great foods!!!!! sigh.. Now that I am stuck in Singapore, I make do with whatever is available. So last week after JG, I drove about quite aimless around and decided to go turn back to Botanical Gardens. Walked around with V, reminded me so much of my regular walks in London's Hyde Park, those days of me, a book, a bottle of water and a Ipod. Chilling out on the sun decks chairs and just watching the world go by... I love summers, you know... I will definitely take a afternoon off and take a stroll in the park.. may it be New York, Amsterdam... esp if the park is near the hotel.

But the weather drove me kinda of mad that day, despite it was overcast, the humility level was maddening (not very Hyde Park in the end) So decided to have lunch at Halia Restaurant. Great ambience, V gets a nice view to watch people and plush greenery around.

Its the season of White Asparagus!! Of course, I had to let V try this seasonal foods from Germany. I ordered her a bowl of White asparagus with smoked chicken soup

while I ordered the Tuna Tataki

White Asparagus drizzled with Truffle oil and fried eggs (though I still think poached eggs would be better)

Had a great lunch and V was very well behaved... I still stand by the notion of her behaving real well in a fine dining restaurant. No dropping of food, no crying, no banging of utensils and of course she gets service which I think she appreciates. I mean the servers are willing to change the plate FOR HER for every course that we had.

Playing with tissues while I have my Cuppa of tea .. relaxing

We spend 1.5 hours in the restaurant and I drove her over to Jacob Bellas Children's Garden for a wash up. It was water play in school and I had her towels, spare clothes. Played for about 1/2 hr and cleaned her up and she fell asleep in the car till evening.
