4th Birthday

Okie this will be the final post of her 4th!

So after a crazy 3 days of celebrations and searching for her stuffs (the expectations of her parties), it was time for her family get together. I decided on Brussels Sprouts In East Coast because

1. She loves the makeshift playground they have on the weekends. It just outside of the restaurant and they children are within view.

2. Its a open air concept (sheltered) and the weather has been awesome recently, so lets make good use of it. We did however felt warm by 130pm, it was nice and cool at 1130am.

3. We have 8 adults (yea so much for a party) and I needed space before it gets claustrophobic in a dark, stuffed, low ceiling restaurant . I mean we have all been there isn't it?

4. The kids eat FREE with every purchase of a main course (awesome savings yea?) Sad to say we benefitted for 1, as V was the only child. Nevertheless, its an great idea from the management! V had Ham with Toast, which came in 2 slides of ham and buttered toast, salad on the side and free flow of soft drinks.

5. They do give a birthday cake or slice (not sure) for birthday celebrations, but V had in her mind her ideal birthday cake which my baker did an awesome job with (I got a frown when we showed her the cake, V was like "PINK MUMMY, I SAID PINK" *rolls eyes. I had to reason with her since it was a Rapunzel, it is a matching purple dress.)

6. She will not get stares from onlookers as she is in a costume (try the mall, people actually point point, like seriously?) Oh it reminded me of it took me so hard just to find this Rapunzel  dress, dozens of calls and 2 failed trips to the mall. I finally got it at Holland V, at $114! Will stock up on dresses during christmas now *lesson learned.

7. I must comment on the food at the restaurant, although their signature mussels with miniature as compared to Europe. The Fish and chips were excellent with a large portion i must say, Pork belly looks delish (3 slides, not the Fat belly type), Lamb Shank too! I had the Beef Stew Pasta but would really love it with mashed instead. But Beef was moist and tender which mademe happy.

8. Total bill for 8 +1 + infant  $310.  (with 5 beers - Happy hour pricing), Cakes $115 for 2 (includes the 49.90 barbie doll) .

It was a memorable celebration for us as K turned 4 too on that day!

This rare occurrence only can happen because both of them were born on the 27th!! Bonded by blood and date. Lovely!

*did u see how my baker tied up the princess' hair? stylo mylo

my 4th birthday - 2nd celebration

sorry that the photos are not in sequence... am so not going to fight with blogpress for this..

We though real hard on how to celebrate her 4th birthday... decide to do USS again since she was not able to sit most of the rides last year at her 3rd. Wanted to do a staycation etc but with I would have to bring Kate into USS (BF etc) and means the day would not be special for her as she has to share. Yes we are doing the special day for each child kinda of thing, I mean its fair since its only one day of her life (in Vs case it was 3 days of Ra Ra)

So we decided against the stay cation, then we decided why not bring the cousins? She loves her cousins and we owe them a trip to somewhere. It is way more fun having more that she can squeal with then the parents. So we and Trev took the plunge, bring 4 children out *yulps. It was like a trial for us to see if we really do want 4 children hahahha.

They was a lot of planning and strategy to get the USS thing worked out. We were afraid to lose the children, I mean we don't know much about their behaviour as we don't stay with them right? The 2 eldest each have an hp, so we sync numbers, save batteries for emergencies.  The tickets into USS cost us $400+ coz we took 3 express ticket, its a must for us coz its irritating to Q with children, worse is when they lose interest and get cranky *yikes.

We meet at Vivo for lunch and chose Carls Junior for a quick and full lunch. Drove in and got in at 130pm. (parking at the end 8pm was $26!!) USS was pretty much the same as last year, just that V was able to sit more rides and enjoy them better. We sat the mini roller coaster whilst she was not allowed on the JPark ride, man she was in shock. Hahha, she didnt speak for at least 5 mins after we got off!!

We took time to watch the parade at 5pm, pyrotechnics at 730pm.. had a qukie dinner at the pizza palour which was closing at 7pm!! Its interesting to note that the park closes at 8 pm as compared to 930 the year ago.

The day ended at 8pm, the children had a squealing good time! Me and Trev actually found it pretty easy to bring them out. Only concern if we really have 4 children is that, it costs a good $600 for a day of joy like this.

4th birthday - 1st celebration

I type a whole lot of words, published it, baby cried for milk, latch her and came back to a missing post .. ARGHHH!!!

Victoria had a vision, to have her birthday celebrated with all her friends and teachers in school. Her goals were bigger, she was to celebrate with the WHOLE school.Well i reckon she didn't know that this school has a large number of students as compared to her previous one. Mummy here sucked at planning for parties, mainly coz I am not a fan of birthday parties. But you now, as mummies, we are supposed to be good at everything.

I blog hopped and saw that Ophe mummy had created cupcake toppers and got her to help me out in this area. Which I think she did great!! V had beautiful toppers! I called my regular baker and she made this rainbow swirl which together with the toppers looked awesome!

I got the goodie bag, or rather a goodie item from The Better Toy shop in Tanglin. The school has requested for no sugary stuffs and I think the pencil is a great choice! its $1.80 each!!! Great choice of gift to 20 kiddos!

The kiddos have blended so well together since the last I saw them at orientation! A few proactively came up to me to talk, about what they do in school, how they use the pencil, what food they eat. It was an interesting time with them. V was busy giving out her goodie item and her cup cake to each individual! She didn't want the adults to help! But I could tell who were her friends in class coz she kept skipping her classmates!!

I had a choking moment when it was time for dismissal and all the 20 of them sang praise in mandarin in big big actions! the loudest part came from the halleujah in chinese! cute-ness can....

Lunar 4 months!

Yea it was her Lunar 4th month, so it was time for something fun!!

With V's 4th month, I happen to read about this hokkien custom which I thought was pretty fun. We weren't prepare and got V to taste a big mac and a KFC drum stick hahhahah. Nope I didn't really know the logic behind, just know its gotta do with having good food to eat all her life. Now with Kate , I did do a little of research.

Bb Kate has been drooling heaps and so I decided to include her 2 more "acts" to help her along with the teething. I will explain the acts and its significance.

Chicken drumstick, 12 marie biscuits, 2 sprigs of chives
12 Marie biscuits :

I got the SMALL ones coz traditionally the parents HAVE TO FINISH OFF EVERYTHING.  Trev is overseas and so I am so not going to finish up everything!!! Traditions states it has to be stringed together, hang it like a necklace and touch every single biscuit to baby lips. Recite "Qit Ta Ta" Hokkein means wipe dry dry) is suppose to help baby to stop drooling. I got everyone at home to help me eat the biscuits, I reckon they must help out too right?

Koo Chai:

Take 2 sprigs and rub the veg on the gums. This is suppose to help her go through her teething with minimum pain!

Chicken Drumstick:

We bought this $3.50 drumstick from the chicken rice store. I was suppose to let her taste the oil of the drumstick and rub it across her lips. This is so that the child will be blessed with good food always. Some say its so that she will not be a fussy eater.

iIknow she looks pretty dressed up, all I said was dress her up and voila , headband and all.
one by one.. my version was in english.
rubbing the koo chai, look at her surprised look! not a veggie girl, i believe
tasting the chicken drumstick.. loving it!
Verdit: still drooling puddles...

New age new hair

I decided it was time for bangs... V has been complaining of headaches n I was pretty puzzled at it..like how can a 3yo be having headaches? not that she has to work or have late nights ... It always happens about evening or after a long day. I swear I thought it was the sun, the new car leather. Then one fine day, it occurred to be that it was because of her ponytail! The fact she has loads of bb hair recently, we had to tie one especially to hold her fringe.. this I believed was the cause of her headache

So off it goes...

the baby hair

decided on a V shape bang
everyone at home was cheering her on
I think she looks sweet

New school, new routine (mummy)

She has officially started school, in a new area. Which mean is a whole new routine for the household!

I am in Olio Dome Dempsey writing this post. Yes I will be spending alot of time around this area mainly because there is wireless.sg and free parking. But I must mention a meal and coffee costs me $25 but ermm cannot be too fussy, true? (anyone free can always meet up with me hehehe.)

We did 2 days of orientation on last friday and this monday. She managed to settle in pretty well, or rather she settle faster than the mummy and daddy! Last friday, it was an hours' orientation and guess what ? the mummy, daddy and grandfather, yes we all went to school with her!! it didn't matter that whilst its stated in the form that ONLY 1 PARENT is allowed.  We were all there to support her! hahahha I believe the other parent (note: sole)  must be thinking these crazy parents and grandfather.

I managed to know some mummies and exchanged numbers. Most important hp no,  was this mummy of Natalie, which V found and got really comfortable. Both started holding hands when it was time for outdoor play. Both Nat mummy and me was really pleased on the new found relationship.

I took some photos, but like all parents of SJCK, we all have consented to a privacy clause of the school. "take only the photo of your child"- its their policy and we totally understand their position.
Just us

Pick up and drop off in Harding is really systematic! I am impressed by it! No chauffeur role for me on this fri/mon as Trev is on biz trip next week and maybe the week after, it loads of driving and I deserve a rest. Mummy needs a break, reason: K is teething and needs loads of love at night. Going to sleep in tomorrow!

my daily Q's

The whole routine has been pretty trying for me especially, I have to leave the baby behind until she is ready for playnest! Yea them she will have a reason to go with us daily to school and I will have much time with her.
messy hair daily
sorrow.. wrong side
I guess beside me who is struggling, V too. She comes into the car grumbling that she is hungry, coz potato rice, or noodles wasn't nice O.o. Yesterday, she crashed to sleep while I was driving home. Her hair is in a constant mess (coz of her hat), she misses Hanna (her bestie in old school). But I see her joy when she sees the school in sight (the lush greenery) when I drive in, her eyes lights up instantly. The best thing I see in her today? She readily says her prayers!!!! asking papa jesus for great friends in her group (today was table reshuffling day) PRAYING and only 4 days into school!!!  I can't ask for more..

Health and fitness

{linky} Motivational Monday - Health and Fitness

So....

I decide to join some linkies and the 1st one I kenna is health and fitness!!! Oh man so not my topic >,<

I am not a exercise freak... but with this recent birth, I really need to lose some fats.  Note - FATS

So the start of this year 2013, I did 2 walks *proud smiles . No not the stylo mylo walks- what the standard chartered or new paper type, but I walk the path just outside my house. o.O

The park connector connects to East Coast Park, so I attempted. It was a nice stroll and got engrossed with the beautiful terraces 'along the way. I STROLLED not walk.

I reached a corner and saw there was another 2.4km to reach ECP and did a quick mental calculations. I doubt I will have the energy to reach home, quickly did a u-vee. This time I walked, brisk one.

I stopped admiring the people and houses ... then I felt drizzles. Like wth! I was NOT NEAR HOME.

Did a quick scan along the path and guess what? NOBODY. Just the minute before, it was filled with cyclists, couple walkers, enthu joggers/walkers, sportsmen wannabe. Where the hell did all of them go?

I ran la.. FORCED TO RUN. Man I was panting when I reached the shelter (aka under the expressway )

Pondered for a while.... the clouds seemed to be moving. OH n I was catching my breath.

I caught my breath and decided it was time to run. I did and what seem like 2 mins... *I felt giddy.dying.clumsy.buffalo.jiggly.

My house "why are you so far?????"

I relented and walked in the rain.

So much for my 1st walk... I came back drenched. Like I ran some race.

Trev looked at me, "wa where u go?" ECP? 0.0  me: just across the road.

The 2nd walk I had, I walked 6 times up and down the same path. *didn't cross any road

I'm trying... small steps to a big goal.

So this rolling around is very important and we do this whenever we can -bonding together. Now you know why Daddy gets jealous "bloody hell, I want this too"

Blog goals 2013

I have been thinking what to do in my blogging world.

I love blogging, it serves as a good memory for my ailing mummy brains.

I mean I can search back my old post and viola information about everything. - *parenting wise

I have published 586 posts!!

This blog has been around almost 4 years, Can u imagine?

I am getting a new lappie as this has proven its worth for the last 4 years, yea I started my 1st blog on this trusty Apple (feeling a bit like Carrie in sex in the city)

I need a new blog name as Victoria-eden is a sole, we have more than 1 child now. (any suggestions?)

I have started on giveaways as this blog has been all about photos/rants/thoughts for the last 4 years. Lets make it fun!!!

So our line up this month, we have a advertorial by Philips Avent new range!!! and a giveaways  tickets of a concert in March!! A few in discussion and I am in search for new & interesting stuffs!!

I will start linkies too, linking up to some other mummies in this blogsphere community!

I have set targets on achieving more blog views, we have an average of 3800 views, 120 views a day  last month with me almost not as active *opps. Silly me have no idea how to view last 12 months hahhaha  I get calls from agents and have no idea what information to give them! Had to reject them coz I there wasn't any blog goals! I mean it was stroller and some baby stuffs.  It was a sign to get in control instead of using this for just a journal!!

I want to hit 8000 page views a month, small goals daily.

New Year new goals for the blog! Let's all push our luck on how far this blogging thing can go!!!
