Playgroup

After last week 9am nightmare aka jg holiday program.. Not the jg but the timing...

We were on trial for my intended increased session next term, like 2 mandarin + 2 english (eventually) but hellya, dd t decided against it... We were sooooooo tired. He decided that parenting is a long and tedious road, will be increasing at a increasing rate when the 2nd one comes along eventually. Made a decision to want to park her in a playgroup for its time for me to rest for this year to prepare my body 1) our 2nd child 2) her school which starts maybe 3 years old (waitlisted) and a firm seat in her nursery in St James. So he expects lots of driving then, with the 2nd one in tow for playnest in Julia Gabriels. Although we were skeptical about keeping our firm seat in SJCK but wanted Chiltern.... But ever since he realized that whenever he was asked where is she going for kindy and mentions SJCk, he gets people with so many questions on how he managed to get such a hot seat....eventually told me that he thinks that he wants her there, since money can't buy a seat in that school hahaha...

So today we visited 2 schools near my in laws, walking distance.... Cant have it far for I'm so not making her travel at this tiny age daily. We needed a program that was a drop off which I see so many of my working friends with help is doing... Grandma Ng, aunty nita came along too keke...

1) a schoolhouse: modelled after pat's, everthing I saw was exactly the same... With outdoor playground, sandplay, waterplay... Fan, Small classrooms, tiny toilets, eat, shit, sleeps in the same place hahhaha.. But the moment we were there, we saw all her playground friends! A good mix of expat kiddies... Like a international school, children were of great background .. This we know for there were alot of students who are my in laws neighbours which means she gets friends in the same kampong. Faces were happy! Principal knows her shit, steady, teachers looked okie... One we saw was very much like a JG teacher with cuddles which was nice. But did I mention I found school old? Oh playground was real hot.. Princess was flushed

2) a very very new childcare centre, with space, aircon, millions of toys... Happening toilets, bath area, kitchen...Principal abit blur but then its so new so forgivable, 2
miserable teachers, one chinese teacher coming in jan... Oh only 1 student today with 3 currently enrolled wahahahaha I totally couldn't see what was up... Principal admitted that she feels the lesson plan was not fantastic and is in the midst of changing it for new year. Then I was like if I do put V there and what if there was only 3 kids of her age, do they actually learn? Brought her to the teacher but she got scared for teacher had her tudong on, so I'm not sure if the headgear affected or was that she didn't like the teacher .. Crap. V got bored 20mins into the session and insisted on coming into the office to sit with us.. Made me wonder how to survive 4 hours. Though I'm sure she gets attention may be there but sort of defeat the purpose of going to school if it 1-1 session ... Like a tuition. There was this small area for kindy and I was like y so small and principal mentions that parents usually put children in PcF kindy in preparation for primary... My stomach churned, I wondered what mix of students will come here *sighs

Fees wise: 1 is 480 and 2 is 600 (after $150 subsidy) but its really aircon and not.. I think lol

Voted: came back to vote with the grands and all selected 1 for the environment learning with peers was was better than toys.. Though the mil was concern with worms in the garden *rolls eyes* I didnt like the hotness, dd the toilets... Oh well this seems so secondary. I need to speak to the parents of 1... It rained today and so playground was cancelled ... Im going to the schools in 2 weeks time, for 2 has one student of V's age coming in, wanna see how they behave together

She will still go JG ... So studies will not get affected ..DD T is amuse by the way victoria struts aound in JG and gets kisses by her teachers... Its somethimg he is not willing forgo yet, so next term is on hold and will return in march... Think a term break is ideal for me hahaha, so gotta sort this out and do a weekend something with her... I'm thinking of music .... Like maybe classical, inspired by baby prom

Babe, how did you manage to get a secure place in SJCK?

Wish I could send Ry to St James but it's just too far and a bit too expensive. :(

after this post, i went searching for a school for her as I was thinking of going back to fly... dropped by SJCK after her JG class was told that they have 3 slots.. I hesitated at that time but we decided to pay $300 just to get that seat even we were not sure what we were getting into.. really just for a peace of mind. but now we realized its actually tat its a hot school!

M: yeah its far, gotta get a car just for her manz... pricing is really reasonable for the amount of stuffs they offer...considering I was think of a school that charges 9K for a yr and so 2.7 k a year is a steal.
