Swimming for Bam Bam

I needed to pamper my princess... the 1st one :)

We frequent Greenwood alot,  the father and daughter loves the pizza in Peperoni's. There was one time we walked into the pet shop there and saw a swimming pool! It got me excited as I always saw it on Tv but never knew where it existed in Singapore. It was a 35-40 mins session at $30 (towel dry) $60 (basic grooming) $70 (full grooming). The dog gets a personal trainer to be in the pool which rawks!  So I made plans told my mum, but never really got to doing it. (as usual ) My mum keeps asking me but I kept pushing it.. but this month I really didn't feel like working and so I took time off to bring the children out for stuffs :)

Contemplated to bring V along but decided against it as Bam Bam may be fearful and might hang on to me. V will get jealous and hang on to me too ...  So brought my mum along instead, to let her see what is up.

Bam Bam was totally scared! She didn't know what to expect... but thank goodness for a awesome trainer who prep her well and gave her enough rests during her 35 mins session. Even gave her a stretching session to loosen her muscles. The only complain he has is that Bam Bam need to lose some weight lol. Tummy was slightly big which makes swimming tough. He suggested that we should get the glucosamine for dogs to line her hips to prevent failure from old age.

preparing
check out her scared look!
acting pro
a rest to clam her nerves
not as frightened now
chilling out at the ramp
I think the pool is too small... but for $30 .. anything la
giving me the evil eye
finally calmed down
getting aligned
and massaged!
think she shiok kena

totally at bliss
When we were there, we met Toby a retriever who has phobia of the water :( His owners threw him into the pool when he was a puppy and expected him to swim but failed. He never once jumped into the pool after that which was sad. so the owners sends him for weekly lessons to train him. I saw him swim, it was beautiful.... straight and confident :) There was a schnauzer, Sparky at 2 years old is suffering from back problem. so poor thing you know.. the owner makes the helper walk him from tanglin to river valley and back everyday, that was not just it. The owner comes back and cycles while he runs after him.. then at 2 years old , he was diagnosed with back problem and was not allowed to run anymore. So sad. So he comes to swim for therapy...

They have a pickup and drop program at $15 both ways which sounds real good. So I have decided to let Bam swim monthly, its great exercise for her. Not expensive if its just towel dry. $45 seems reasonable. Hope she likes my decision.....
came home , pleased
after spending $95 + glucosamine
but we do anything to make them happy. I'm looking for spa session for pets, anyone knows where?

Gift

Daddy came from his business trip and he brought me a gift! Okie fine, it wasn't from me but from his customer in Vietnam. He said she went into the shops while they were having dinner and got me this. She said it was for Good Luck!

Seriously I have never received a branded gift from someone besides my girlfriends. So let's see if this red Burberry wallet from a millionaire couple brings me MONEY!!!

27 months

I think I missed the 26 months, I saw it in my draft - written half way.. opps

I have seriously lost track of milestones, don't read any books anymore.

She has her full set of teeth, coz there was this crazy weeks of not eating. Which is by the way damn irritating from this girl, already a hellavu picker eater -thank god for pediasure. You can feed her the same food in that week, if she likes this today and you attempt to feed the same; it fails and she spits it out . My mum's only complaint when she babysits her is this, she doesn't understand how terrible it is to cook for her. She has resorted to me like Aunty Nita to cook 3 different dishes for her to chose.  Yes, V gets 3 dishes to chose from daily, each must be in a different plate.. soup must be in a soup bowl with a chinese soup spoon. Rice must be dry, cannot mix it up for her coz she will be upset as she must pick the dishes to mix it herself. If you think serving 1st class passenger during my time was tough, try serving Victoria. She is the lady particular with her serving utensils... She eats fruits EVERYDAY, variety also.. this sometimes I shake my head when I see it happening. She will ask for grapes, blueberries, cherries, apples etc. Best part there are plenty of fruits at home, so she will on a buffet. All she does is ask Aunty Nita and she gets whatever she wants. We give in to this as she doesn't eat veggies *yawns- from the father :( , so she having fruits is the way to go.

We are almost there with the potty training, not really training much. You know our parenting styles, relax type.... so we will ask potty? if she says no, we let her be, if she wants we put her on the toilet bowl. Ya we bought that stupid potty which she used for less than 5 times, (anybody wants?) She has requested to sit on the toilet bowl only. Today she did her dump in the toilet bowl which was GREAT! Like finally... okie 1/2 her dump actually. She called out to me and told me she wanted to poo in potty, I was "you sure?" "Yes mummy, but I have already smelt the poo, checked but she has already did. But she insisted, so I removed her diapers, propped her up. She asked me to go away and so I walked out, shouted to DD T "Daddy, V is on the potty, don't disturb" few seconds later she shouted for me. I checked and she did her DUMP!!! Woots, there was the hi-5, cheeers, called DD T to see, hi -5 .. all the drama la... this is her 1st time doing her dump on the toilet bowl, she usually just pee. So I need to talk to the school about full flenched potty training with no diapers *yawns...

Her chinese sucks, or rather our chinese sucks. That day, DD T was watching the ch 8 show and she was telling DD T "its mummy favourite show!" I admit I watch tvb series at night when I put her to sleep, so she is quite used to it. But what was funny was she look at the father and asked "what is that ?" and pointed to the chinese character on the TV advertisement. For once in her Father's life, he was speechless. (coz he don't know what word it was) hahahahha We are still not into teaching her academics, still learning through play... she is great in story telling- its her strength; no joke, she can sit on the bed and go on and on and on.... oh man :( dont let her start when we drive, cannot concentrate on the road. You know, my father carried her on the day she was born and told me I have a very talkative girl (she has pointed lips) and I didn't believe. Now I do.....   and she is only 27 months!!

Grieve or joy?

all I did was to write an encouraging note to a fellow blogger and I went back to see the comments;  had heaps of mummies sending me regards too.

K this happened in April or May, we tested positive and in least than 2 weeks we lost the foetus. If all things went right, the child should be a 31 Dec or 1st Jan... but God has his plans and reminded us that a unhealthy one isn't worth keeping. Within 2 weeks we lost it, I saw blood one faithful day and knew it wasn't just implantation, that this child was not meant to be ours. It was a regular day running my errands and for goddamn 32 years of wearing heels , I tripped and fell forward (not drama type). With that action I knew it was his way of jolting the foetus out the less traumatic way.

I called Dr Han and they sent me in immediately, at that time I went to the toilet many times. I even flushed the clot down his toilet. When I went inside, had our usual chit chats and told him I was bleeding and even just flushed it down. He behaved real normal and inserted the vaginal scope in, with me bleeding heaps. Told me in his style that he cannot find a sag, and in that clinic for 15 mins never once used the word miscarriage. I guess to him it wasn't even a pregnancy as it was not implanted or growing well. We joked as usual ..he was going on about my Bloom shoots and how its still his favourite *bless him. We laughed and cracked jokes... the nurses were all alarmed I was so relax. I just told them "I'm Dr Han's patient for the last 4 years, I know I'm in safe hands"

He sent me to do a blood test, calculated and told us when we should try; which is 2 cycles from then which is July/August. (went back 3 days later in KKH A& E to do again and it was a negative- something about if the placenta is still stuck we have to do something and thank god it was flushed away)

If you ask me if we grieved. Yes we did for the shortest time, from the time I bled till mid day. By the time I reached the clinic I have come to accept the fact that an unhealthy foetus is not worth our effort to fight or pray for it. Call me hard hearted, call me an optimist, call me anything... I am a parent clear of the consequences. We prayed for the blessing that God gave and we know he has his plans. Maybe time is not right at this moment to have one more, the best part is that I know my body is clearing out the rubbish accumulated by clearing it away. Which is where as I see it a great job by my body :) Every thing happens to me for a reason, I became stronger, set my goals higher, increased my already high empathy for people, understanding for parents. With this I became even better at what I did; DD T became greater in his career.

We did try for our 2nd, ermm for that one month. This month was like I hardly saw him hahaha. If his plans are just giving us Victoria, we will make sure that she receives happiness everyday of her life. In life, you ask for love it comes from family, great friends, fantastic people we meet everyday. I am already really happy for that gift... the one that created such impact to our family. I will park the trying part at the back of my mind for we have set our goals for each other; so family planning may not be our priority as of now. I'm game for IVF, anything works for us if we are too old for it. One shot get triplets .. best-est. so much easier hahhaha.

By the way, it was V that came up to me pulled my shirt up, pointed to my tummy and told me baby. But interestingly she never once mention it once it was gone. ESP from children.. yes I'm sure!

Dated: 26 April 2011

My period was late I did very much wanted to get the kit but was thinking ... just wait awhile more... but yesterday, I just had to check it out. I guess for the peace of mind.

Walked to Guardian, picked up the kit that was on offer. I remembered my gyane told me it doesn't better what brand, as long its a HCG kit. So I picked up the cheapest and it was 1 for 1 offer hahahahahah. Like it was only $7.95 for 4 pee sticks compared to a clearblue at $20+. I guess I got "wiser".

Went to the toilet and pee on it, like how difficult right, then realized I shouldn't pee on the window. Okie so much for being the "expert", so I threw away $1.96. Seriously. Decided that I wasn't preggers since I can't do anything right. hahahah went for dinner with my girlies and came home. Decided that I should do one more time so I can sleep better.

Pee-ed,  only 1 line appeared. Showered and came out and it was 2 lines. Like Omg.... confused. Went to my iphone to check my last period, googled, and we are due for a Rabbit, Dec baby! Edd 31 dec 2011. So I got my wish of a rabbit! Although it came a month late as we wanted the same sign as DD T, but nevertheless it came! Although apps and calculator may fail and I may end up a 2012 baby. *oh well

and then you wonder.... what peace of mind?

Updates

I have been feeling out of sorts... Like no goals no direction, I mean I know what I have to do but everything seems so far off and trying to achieve it seems so difficult. I'm one of those people who does a great mad dash , like studying the week b4 the exam and passing it type. Basically I work at my peak with pressure, so whole of august was without pressure which is crappy. I just cruised the whole half a month which to me is crappy... Nothing can be achieve if I am like that. I believe you can tell by the lack of posts ... Hehe

Tonight I manage to set my new goal which is great!!! Yippppeeeee !!!!!!

Some updates, I spent most of time lying in bed thinking of rubbish. Besides that I brought Bam Bam for a swim which I have uploaded into blogspot only lappie, so will write it another day ;)

Daddy came back on Sunday evening and flew off again.. V had loads of stuffs from the trip. It was like Xmas came early for her.

National Day baking session

The day started with V meeting Brayden at Popeye's for lunch, they were having great fun chatting in their baby talk. Yes still in baby talk, a lingo the parents have NO idea what they are talking about. They were laughing, giggling, dancing to whatever and us the parents just sat there having our conversation. After lunch it was off to Ern's house for National Day celebration!

Ern;s mummy has prepared a baking workshop for the kiddos! Way fun.. I think la if I was them. Edible playdoh like why not right? The helper was a great trainer and prepared this awesome tasting dough which we used to make pizza base and cinnamon rolls!

all ready with their mini rolling pins
each of them has a little dough each
attempting to roll them out
effort!
they took a cup to cut out the pizza base.. started to put the sauce
then the best part was adding the toppings
look at the many types that aunty prepared!
ern was busy eating the toppings instead of making the pizza
V's 1st creation... so proud
B's massive mini pizza
so cute and creative!
B decides that poking was the way to go!

E was more interested in the flour than the dough
kneading hard!
all the great students!
yummilious!
next was cinnamon rolls (was damn good!)
cut into strips , add powder and roll!
looks terrible but taste awesome!
looks damn good right!
drizzle some condensed milk on top!
the chefs Q-ed for their food
and had while watching their cartoons!

V now goes to YouTube to look for dough kneading and watched them. I am seriously wondering how does she navigates in youtube so well. That day she found one video with cupcake icing on a ice cream cone with sprinkles and asks me to do it. Children!

Busy

So I'm busy, DD T is busy ...

This week starts the series of flying for work. DD flies 17-21, 23-26 august. I fly 1-5, together on 16-18 then he goes off 19. Oh man :(

Then I'm book on all weekends in sept and haven't slot in my overseas assignments. *wails

No wonder V looks at the aeroplanes and tells everyone "my daddy n mummy in there" best part I chose not to go back flying but ends up most time overseas. I am fated to lead a life of travelling, regardless what career I take up.

Thank god we both have flexible career that allows us to spend our time equally with V. I'm not working much till he is back, so its alot of shopping & tea-ing with her before my busy month.

Singkids

Aunty Nita is in hospital for the last one week as she had a swollen knee with water and had to get it operated. So it was V and mummy for this last one week. Then on Friday Dd T had dinner meeting with his overseas guests and drinks with daddy friends. I moved my appointments for the week so I get to spend more time with V since she don't have any caretakers and MIL has to shuttle between hospital, housework etc.

I got bored and have no idea what to do with her, read through Fb and saw a mummy posted that she wanted to go Singkids. I have been reading about this place in Fb lots and wondered how was it. So decided to bring V over after her nap, to the one in airport. They charge $14 an hour (steep hor, oh well children biz) and I decided to just sign up the membership for $140 for 10 visits, 2 hour each time. I hope I understand it correctly, anyway whatever, The place to me seems pretty boring lol, thinks royce is alot more fun with the toys but V actually enjoyed herself heaps! She refused to go and I was stucked there hungry, without a hp (left it in the car). We spend 1.5 hours there, best part was really just few things la! and she can go on and on and on.... I do anything to get her tired.

something that goes round and round
her favorite ball pit!
look at her fly
they had this racer thingy which was pretty cool
All the structures
Off she goes, racing by her self :) it maneuvers by her controlling the handrails
she found a slide (in the opp park)
What was opposite
she likes this ballon blowing corner thingy which I have no name for it
Its a pretty cool place and I think it relatively empty (which is good) as its bad having to deal with too many children at the same time. Best part was I saw a mummy friend Patricia there and I was glad to have some company for awhile. They do provide seating places for the parents to just rot while waiting for the kiddos to burn their energy. It has a very willy wonka candy factory feel to it. LOL
