Avent comfort electric pump (Review)

{Sponsored Post}

I decided very hard and long how to do this Avent review.. I cannot compare it with an old Avent as I have not used it before, it cannot be an old apple and a new apple comparison.

But I do have experiences on using the Ameda and Medela Pisa. Since the Ameda has since retired and what I had was the old model. I decide to take time out to compare my Medela PISA which I got less than 4months ago.

Size: The pump machine of Avent I must say is way smaller than the Medela as you can see in the photos. Both in length and breath of the machine.

Weight: With such a drastic difference in the size, the weight is 1/4 light than the mean machine of Medela. The Pisa as we all know it has one of the heaviest machine around.

Bottle and funnel: Avent has their bottle wide neck and Medela is slim neck. Height wise, they are comparative.

Parts: I have lay out all the dismantled parts of the bottles, I'm sure all mummies feel the same - lesser is better. I have many times fumbled with the parts in the middle of the night trying to fixa bottle. The Avent has 1 piece more and that is their infamous soft massage cushion with trademark petals.

Pumping: I did a quick 3 mins pump to see how the simulation phase works for both. If you ask me why 3 mins? its because Medela has theirs in 3 mins before it goes on to xx phase and so I used this a a gauge.

I notice that I managed to draw out more from the Medela.

Pumping after 8-10 mins: This is my 1st let down, 2 oz... in the end they both managed to have about the same quantity.

Comfort: I must say the Avent has more comfort, but oddly to say I keep having this "is milk coming out?' feeling. The fact that I cannot feel it makes me keep looking at it!

Noise: The Avent is LOUDER. I had both machines turned on when Trev was having a nap.. u should have seen his stare when he was woken up with both the Medela and Avent going! Both were equally loud and I thought Medela was bad, but wow Avent actually won! This is not only my opinion, Trev helped me when he woke up.

Price: I got a electric single pump for review.

I will compare on a twin electric for both brands.
Avent$779
Medela Pisa $754

My recommendation:

Office : I will chose Avent if you are a working in a office where that are plugs and a fridge.
1. The weight and size is meant for a mummy who has to carry pumps to work!
2. This pump does not come with a cooler bag with a ice pack nor a car adaptor.

Travelling: I will chose a Medela, If u are a travelling pumper with a car like me.
1. Car adaptor (Separate purchase)
2. Ice pack with a bag
3. A bag that carries everything.

Home: Avent, just because it is smaller and neater and is equipped with longer wires.

My opinion:

Pros: Avent really did impressed me much with the weight and the portability of the pumps. The simulation phase is really adjustable which is great for new mummies who struggle with let downs. The suction is strong even at medium.

Cons:  I do however am slightly disappointment with the noise it makes and the lack of amenities for the price

*I received a Avent Comfort Single Electric Breast Pump for the purpose of this review. All opinions expressed herein are strictly my own.
