20 months

Over dued post

Teething: its back!!!!! and its so not not not not funny how tough this round is going to be... THE MOLARS! like omg lor... the whingeing is back, the sudden cries are back, the I don't want to sleep coz it hurts are back, the this hurts my gums so I'm on food strike is back... so its off to get tubes of bonjela.

Teething is paired with separation anxiety but hey we are so damn forgiving this round for eh molars you know.. so I think it will last at least 3 months since its 4 pieces right... yawns. She insists on eating her snacks every where, think its comforting, raisins works to for what reason I'm not so sure.

We have not been sleeping well for she wakes up once in the night for her feeds .. yawns

Talking: She has started to speak in sentences like "I will read my book" and can count 1-10. That one night, she was crawling on the bed and she was going "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10" DD T looked and me "Do you think she is very clever for her age to be able to do that?" I was like "Hmm I really don't know... She is my 1st child remember, nobody to compare with?" Its darn interesting how the words are coming out.. there was one time she said "WO BU YAO", we stopped what we did and told her "eh where the chinese coming from huh?" There is the answering back at us which is very funny at times. may get frustrating soon.

Reading: She has her box of books that I finally pulled out, she will go and sit down to flip all of them just before her sleep time since we are hardly at home nowadays. She has a box in every house.. each about 20 books.. Eh I bought very little coz I'm super fussy keke must be rhyming and I read every book for the structure of the sentences and all that crap la, the rest all passed down. Found her hand me down tiny flash cards that she so like to play with, like poker cards keke.

Our Sunday

Had lunch with my old collegues and their daughter...

It was great as it's been a while since we caught up with each other and even better this round as we brought our kids out for them to play with each other. Hayley is about 6 years old, attends Lorna Whistion Kindergarten talking to her was real pleasant as she speaks so well and presents herself real confidently. There was this priceless moment when the server came to give them some toys and she bluntly asked "Are these from China?" You should have seen the parents, they were hiding their heads under their table, while me n DD T was guffawing away for it was so
A-oh-funny!! The server looked at the tiny cars that she was carrying with the biggest question mark hovering over her head and left quietly while DD T was left with the task to help Hayley check the make out. I swear it was a priceless moment when DD T said that it was made in China, she jumped off her seat and chased after the server and shouted "my parents said no to China made toys!" and it was a full restaurant, her voice very the loud.... Kekekkee

As I was giggling over Hays loud exclamation, I knew we were on the way for such behaviour when V turns older o.O The parents finally stopped hiding and explained her behaviour as they have been more particular about her selection of toys ever since the paint toxic scare in toys.

While our lunch date dragged till tea, it was real fun catching up and even better when we as parents think so alike in the upbringing of our children.

Great day

Today is a fantastic day!! Woke up to a awesome SMS from cousin David, that twins Charlotte Ellen Lipman born 1250 & Zachary Peter Lipman born 1255 made their entrance finally!!

Wasn't it nice to wake up to such great SMS? Oh btw they are siblings to Kai, remember him the blond aussie one that came over few months back? He is a December baby which makes him 1 month older and now 2 siblings elder.

Decided to make the day even better by visiting Ophe in hospital, was craving to carry Chace... Come on which mummy doesn't have this crave??



Here is Chace, handsome little guy and best of all, he received a kiss from V today.. Sweet!

Dinner with the mummies

just came back from our dinner together. 

It was our monthly dinner that I would organized to catch up, eat, talk nonsense. Didn't do one last month as I was on holiday and got a bit lazy with the watching of my DVDs.  There was one day Serene ask me when was dinner for this month as she was yearning for the pizza that I blogged on. Asked around and managed to get few regulars to meet up (with cars) as the joint was a little way off the Mrt stations.

Sms-ed Ophe in the morning to check on situation since she was already 3cm dilated...

"Morning, signs of labour yet?'
"Morning dear!!! Just lost the mucous plug only hahah but no contractions yet! should be okie for dinner."

So we proceeded with dinner despite not getting and answers to my sms from the rest as they were busy at work. But Mummy Ophe needed a great meal with like minded friends like us for dinner!!! The dinner was filled with stories of labour, confinement, schools, choosing of new house, maids, our child's current developments etc... the usual stories and we never get sick of repeating.

But the dinner ended with a bang when Ophe felt uncomfortable and went to the washroom and announced that she think her water bag leak for the liquid was flowing constantly. It got us all so excited!!! Reminded us like 2 years ago when it happened and after much encouragements and hugs later, she was whisked off by Ange back home to get ready.



We got excited and took a picture before she left... One for the road!! Can't wait for Chace to be out....

Saturday afternoon

Our Saturday.. Was supposed to lunch at Amici Holland V but the parking was terrible and so I decided that we should go Serene centre. To Introduce DD T to V's latest favourite joint...







It's our 3rd visit this week! Like you can see, very much approved by both of them... Kekeke the chef was all excited to see us again as I told her yesterday V is a big fan of her food! Promised to bring the hb soon and I did ermm like real soon. It's really great place for French cuisine at a fantastic price, I get my fix of foie gras and best part she loves the place, regardless in the aircon or alfresco.

After the meal, we went around for a walk to cluny court since shopping at Serene centre sux... Bought for V a personalized swim wear top with upf 50 at $49.95, will blog it when I collect it. Got me a funky dress n top at a steal then stumbled on 3 Inch Sin... DD T had his fix of molten cake n vanilla ice cream.







Since V can't eat sweet stuffs, I bought her a packet of biscotti while we try to hide eating our dessert from her. But of course fail la, so gave a little tasting of the vanillla.

Walked back to get the car and told DD T about the fantastic icecream (n cheap) at island creamery! So he ordered a banana ice cream with cone at $2.90, yes just after his molten cake.







V finally fell asleep as I'm blogging in the car, me feeling woosy with my lunch, dessert n hot sun.. We did a detour to go back to the grands n snooze. Opps but hey tats what weekends are all about....

Love

just spent the last whole hour on the bed watching the eulogy


Like OMG lor, my eyes was overflowing... so touching.  Its like a great love story for all to see and appreciate. To have a life long companion is the most blessed thing, the ability to accept the other's nonsense and giving all out just because of love.

When I was watching the eulogy on Tv, DD T took a quick nap while we were on the bed trying to put V to sleep. This is something we try to do everyday together with her. In the past we will take turns to lie down with her while the other does their own things; housework, xbox or me on my laptop. But in recent months, we have been making a point to sleep together with her, a time we both have decided to spare after the mayhem of the day. Just lying there on the bed with her, talk to her as a family and us as husband/wife.

I really don't know how we started this habit but its really a very healthy thing to do. Sometimes taking time out for each other is really very important. Like today I was crying while watching  (yes I'm a super cry baby) and he woke up coz he heard my chokes, tapped on me, told me its all okay. But of course he knows I am like that la and it was his way of showing his concern. Then I remembered at one point when LKY's daughter was giving her eulogy, LHL took his jacket, wore it and HC wanted to talk to him or something... then both their heads knocked into each other. DD T said "see, this shows how often they talk to each other!" I knew he made this statement just me make me laugh and I really appreciated it; coz it made me giggled.

Today I learnt that she is one woman I want to emulate, she taking time off her career for 1 yr for her birth of her 1st child; honest how many successful women can do this? The way she balanced her life so well to groom her children, take over the role when LHL's had his 1st loss by nurturing his children, write letters to her children - which reminds me of my mum hahaha, my mum writes post it and sticks it everywhere, or letters when she cannot put across her thoughts to my behaviour or her concerns. Cute right? It a great calling for me to learn how to distribute my love for everyone.

A perfect role model who reminds me that the most effort to maintain in life is not money, career, parenthood, but a love that can last a life time.. a love affair just like LKY n KGC

Me and Mary Kay

I never knew that by writing my thoughts have such have a effect in my new career. I found something that I truly love!!!

It all started as.... just to use their products as I was to go back to flying remember? Then I got so good doing it as it doesn't eat into my time with V; with fantastic time management and family support! I am on track to be Mary Kay's 1st 10th sales director.. woots woots. We have only 8 sales directors now here in Singapore and so I'm so excited about it!

I realized and was very clear to me that I wouldn't be happy with a 9-5 job, for the enthusiasm in me is very contagious and dealing with it behind a desk is very not me. My strengths is that I am a very people person and can chat with anyone anytime and absolutely love love love fun! Though I don't exactly have the sales blood in me *opps something I'm learning hard, but I have man managements skills that my previous company has so instill in me. Doesn't help that I love to look beautiful so its like the best job for me!!! The best part is that I have ever wanted to start my own business but my degree is just a piece of paper with zero experience and got to know that once I become a sales director, I get to register my own company, so fantastic! Can't wait to see what is in stored in years to come!

DD T is way excited about my new career and is very supportive of it, helping me look after when ever I conduct my classes especially at night. Its great as I work 1-3 times a week, not always is a full day, coz I still come back to put her to sleep etc. I guess the reason why I am so successful is that I decided to put my goal on my child, wanting to put her in a international school and so want her to do her summer break in China. We want to give her a overseas education as we are very cultural aware parents (guess gotta do with our past) . I'm sure with the education system changing every year, things will be a lot different in 5 years and we will be ready when it happens. We have a dream , if education system works for us in 5 years, we want to be able to buy a house near it!

A big thanks to DD T and FIL who sat down and went through the Mary Kay business model, telling me its a fantastic company to work in and that I have nothing to lose if it doesn't work out but many to gain if it does. My FIL for reminding me that only in sales you can achieve your dreams when you work hard, his tips on how to break through the barrier that was holding me back - my pride. How they always remind me to direct my concerns on money (bad months) to things greater than cash, because they know money is not a drawing factor for me.

A bigger thanks to Ern's mummy who is such a big Mary Kay fan even before she used the product but through her admiration of her a business women. Sharing with me how she read her autobiography and got inspire to achieve her "million dollar table". and her quote "if u believe the product, the battle is 50% won, the rest is just pure determination" (to shann: see, I remembered!!)

I so love my new career as a beauty trainer, image consultant, future sales director, motivation talker and most of all a role model for V to emulate.

2nd bday

I have thoughts...

Was discussing with DD T that day about her 2nd birthday and that I have nothing in stored. For I can't deal with many many people, cut cake etc again.. just need a break. So he asked what I want to do... and I suggested that we donate a sum of money to an organization for her birthday, just a form of blessing from us to the people who needs our help.

Since it was nearing Chinese New year during her birthday, we can actually give foodstuffs and do some charity work for them. DD T says its up to me....

So I'm writing this post to ask if any parents are keen in offering their assistance in this kind deed? Maybe we can all do it together... a pay back to society for allowing us to have such wonderful life with our child.

And if there are charity organizers who needs help, do drop me a msg...

Happy Children's Day!

Think the princess had a ball of a time.... Though it sux to go to school on Children's day.. I mean supposed to be holiday right? But I guess there was a good reason to go school, for they had gifts for the lil ones....



V actually was all smiles when she took her gifts... my heart melted when I saw her smiling at the the colouring pens.. It was real happiness!!! She really took it and stared at it, flipped it around, insisted that I opened it... but the voucher she not much cared for... though I must remember to use it! till 31st oct... guess buy books la.

After class, went to Shaw Centre to get her uniforms, though of eating Kuriya, but eh close down de lor.. the freaking place is a ghost town.. empty!! So walked over to Lido and saw a japanese restaurant, very nice and quiet, which was very good! (coz already 2+pm) 

Nice hor the kids meal!!! I got excited not so much for V.. for she insisted on coming out of her bb chair! then she looked at me and said "poo" Okie fine.. guess no lunch for her then.. she sat there in her squatting position to get her feeling while I enjoyed my lunch.Waited for her to do her dump and fed her some remains, But I allowed her, her 1st yakult! and of course like all kiddos, she hearts it..

Walked over to the children's section to get her a gift. Honest, she really got my blood!!! Being high maintenance just like me, she set her eyes on this tiny hello kitty bag which costs $79.95 *rolls eyes*. But damn nice I tell u, but can't put jack shit!!!!!!

I couldn't make a decision for I am impulsive and didn't want DD T to flip when the bill comes ... keke so I sent a photo to DD T with a msg " Your gal wants this... $79.95 how?" Of course, the reply was " Ok, just sign for it"

Spoilt right?? oh well.. we hardly buy her anything anyway..

Playclub

DD T took her to school last week as I was away on a trip...

He commented that he realized that V wasn't in her top form in playclub, not exactly very pleased with it and wanted me to change school or rather search for another one. Haha I had to reassure him that he is in one of the best Speech and Drama for preschoolers and that we should give it this term before we make a decision. Reminded him that its only V's 4th lesson and club is very different from nest! Guess he was  just being a protective daddy, so now I have to report to him on V's performance. Which is why most of you can see her playclub photos in Facebook... there are actually for DD T's to see. I do also Whatsapp him videos of her in class, this actually makes him happy while at work.

I became a mummy whose so busy taking photos and videos of her.. reminded me of her nest days. I do enjoy flipping through her photos that I store under JG folder, it really shows her growing up. :)

I am slowly getting used to the routines, Honest, it doesn't help that the mummies there are so competitive with taking chairs, "chope-ing" good positions... I got irritated, like "eh cannot relax abit huh" Then this week I became like them hahaha, can't beat them, join them la!! Because I got competitive and "timed" V's activities, I realized she is starting to enjoy herself. Guess its in her nature or rather a child's nature not to be behind the rest and wait. They cannot understand the concept that it will be their turn SOON.

V is very used to getting hugs from her teachers and everyone knows her in school, except for the mandarin teachers. So all her nest teachers will come up and hug her whenever which the exception of 2 male teachers who are solely in charge of the playclub. Only one teaches her and its a contrast how the male teachers show their affections to the children. They do lack a little of warmth , something V is so used to all these while. So I have been "putting" her with the teachers after class, just hanging around while I run to the toilet; for her to warm up to the teachers, as its impossible to get any attention especially with the 14 others. So finally today, I saw the male teacher carrying her and giving her kisses, this I know my gal has finally accepted the new teachers! Ya the things I do... but this is also why V is so well loved in school.

Well, she has started dancing in class and I took a video and showed DD T (was pleased) ...

Holiday programs are out and DD T chose Funny Farm Folk in Week 2 29 nov -3 dec... any one joining? We should be doing Mandarin classes just to prepare her. Oh don't forget to code Victoria Eden Ng's name for us to get some discount hehe tks alot !!!

Domestic helper

we have since met one candidate only....

Saw that one filipino before we left for holiday and decided to KIV till after... So went on a holiday, came back - chill and when I am ready.. their government pulled a fast one.. *crap So now we are stuck with no candidates. *rolls eyes

My Mil doesn't want Indo; something about magic, then we toyed with the idea of Myanmar; but seems language is the issue as DD T's mandarin sux, so government has hellavu lots bangladesh but eh.. am totally not ready to deal with them maybe not of as yet.

Aunty Nita got me one "kampong friend" today, ask me to call her to talk to her and feel. Eh, don't know what to ask lei. I mean if I take her is really kampong one... best part $400. Thinks domestic helper nowadays earn good money. DD T thinks she is way too high... I told him you guys decide, since my mil knows how to go about the getting airtickets, work permit etc. I say I just want her all ready... period

Oh well, don't know when the help is going to come... think I really gotta move my butt...

Tks for ophe who "reminded" me to register... Zzzz  Though I doubt I will have the time to visit everyone this year and gosh I'm 70 blogs late this year as I was the 100th blog last year...

I had great fun doing do last year and yes I did cheat a little by writing more than 1 entry per day and had altered the post options.. hey I did make an effort right?

Tonight, I decided to spend my hours to write my blog instead of doing my housework.. hehehe
