Idea...

Had lunch with my gf yday...

She suggested that we should hold tea parties for ladies to shop for her shop clothes, me to teach makeup.. Bascically things to do with women and especially for mummies...

After being stuck at home all these times with V when she was younger, I have rely to shopping online, or asking friends to shop for me for honest, lugging a child to shopping has absolutely too many logistics and I can't buy shit when the husband is there... *frowns

So I have inevitably become a direct sales person, this is what you mean by circumstances changes one. Shipping online, sprees, BP, FB has become part of me, asking me to go and window shop is no longer my cup of tea.

I remembered last year when I was in Sydney for Xmas and saw how the Aussies survived motherhood. Trev's couz, Dave and his wife are both in the policeforce, ever since Kai was born... Riannan changed to working in the office (still police) for 2 days a week. I envied her and her lifestyle for she had that option of doing that.. A great balance of sanity n motherhood... guess in Singapore such things don't exist much unless you are working in an American company or a damn understanding boss.

While we were there, Riannan hosted us and she had a Tupperware party for her friends. There I saw how capable mummies there were and how they kept their sanity by attending parties and had opportunities to deplete their children of the energy. I was so impressed by it, told DD T that Singapore really sucked in this. In Australia, due to the fact that nannies service, maid are expensive, family do not stay around the area to help out.. They do really rely on their networks to survive .

I came back Singapore with a different mindset, from then, I started buying things from mummies or women making it a effort to survive by not wanting to feel worthless.

I decided to use my blog as a platform 1st, just to try it out... Any mummies/women out there who wants to join in my event that I'm planning... A tea party just for us to chill, talk shop, talk family... Really to shop for quality products, handmade or specially sourced.

Targetted day for tea party (sori not like Fire disco ) is 1st week of December. Please do contact me.. It's really something to create awarness for you business.. Or my readers to see me? Wahahaha

Like you, I am also amazed w those pp from the west who do their home party with so much passion...be it make up, clothing and even to making jewellery classes...I am still trying to find that kind of "passion" in Singapore.
I hope I can join you 1st week of Dec.. but then depends on my work schedule would I be out of town or not... :)
